The Commons Bourbon Little Brother wasn't bad, though on the boozy side.

Expecting quad flavors from Labyrinth is going to result in disappointment. Isn't this really just a stout?

Local here in Indy, Bier Brewery, makes Sanitarium. It is a consistent medal-winner, including silver at GABF in 2013 in Belgian Strong Dark and again in a different category (I forget which) this year. The 2014 release is coming up soon.

Allagash Odyssey...sort of a quad-wheatwine-stout hybrid. Better on draft and in 2+ year bottles. I really want to try the oak-aged La Trappe, shame it's so damn expensive.

Also, Stickee Monkee is a barleywine. Firestone Walker called it a barleywine for the first five years they made it, then it magically became a "central coast quad." I call BS. The recipe seems to be identical. And in any case, it doesn't taste remotely like any other quad-labelled beer in the world. It is, however, very delicious, albeit too sweet.

LA Track 8 is labeled as a Quad and is definitely BA, plus lots of other interesting things going on making for one hell of an impressive (and sadly expensive) beer.

Don't forget Straffe Hendrik Heritage. Not necessarily used (i.e. bourbon) barrels, but truer to the style perhaps.

It's too sweet and doesn't taste like a quad because it uses their English house yeast. I guess they call it a quad because it gets some of that dark fruit character and dryness from using turbinado sugar. But still, turbinado sugar isn't the same as dark candi sugar. I agree that Stickee Monkee is definitely a barleywine. I think it's just hard for FW to say that they make so many different barleywines.

Sucaba, Stickee Monkee, and Double DBA are all barleywines. And Helldorado that they're releasing looks like a barleywine too. I'm not complaining, they make great barleywines.

It's a quadruple black ale, whatever that means. 4 times stronger than a normal black ale? It's a barrel-aged stout. Not a quad or a Belgian strong dark (same thing) in the slightest.
