Not enough superlatives to describe New Glarus, even if I have to take a long drive to get it, always worth it.

Wow, great article on a great brewery. Love the local attitude, but then again I'm from WI.

New Glarus and the Packers are the two things for me that make enduring Wisconsin winters worth it

Only had the Spotted Cow, Staghorn, Stone Soup, and Two Women during trips to visit my girlfriend's family in Chicagoland, but had no complaints about any of those. Any time we're near the Wisconsin border, I pick up something of theirs.

EDIT: So the main brewer apprenticed at Privatbraurei Aying for three months? No wonder I find myself looking for their stuff!

It certainly feels like they are hell bent on taking over my world, that's for sure.

"I always say that, in marketing, big breweries pull you in. But we’re pushed by our customers, and it’s very simple and democratic."

Thank you Dan Carey. I will continue to "vote with my pocketbook!"

No small part of why living in Chicago is good for beer is the short drive to WI. I've had more of what New Glarus has produced than almost any other brewery, because a short drive can get me across the border where almost everything they make is easy to find, reasonably fresh, and pretty much guaranteed great.

Truly a respectable brewery. My personal experiences with both Dan and Debra has been nothing but positive.

I'm burst-from-my-pants giddy that Enigma is returning. One of my favorites of all time.

Just got a box from a fellow BA in Wisconsin. Had all their greats including Moon Man, Wisconsin Belgian Red, Serendipity, Raspberry Tart, and the seasonal Pumpkin Pie Lust, Cran-bic, and Apple Ale. So excited to drink these bad boys!

The cran-bic is Cantillon-quality. I am praying my friend traveling thru Wisconsin can find me more of them.

I always laugh when I hear someone talk about, "someday when New Glarus expands outside of Wisconsin". Its never gonna happen, folks. NG is VERY happy with the little niche they have carved out for themselves.
I love sharing New Glarus beers with my friends here in Ohio. For me, its a source of pride and showing people why I still love Wisconsin, even though I dont live there anymore. Its a shame, really because I get them hooked on it and then they want me to get them more or they are convinced that they are going to find it somewhere locally (to which I always laugh and wish them luck).
If nothing else, it gives me an excuse to make a trip back home to Wisconsin to stock up on my favorite beer. Other than, you know, that little thing of visiting family and friends.

At Woodman's you can get six packs for $6.99. Other liquor stores and gas stations you'll find it anywhere between 7 and 8
