What are people paying for the 750s of Cascade that have been dropping the past few weeks? It seems that there are wild swings in pricing depending on the liquor store, but it could be my imagination.

Saw Bourbonic Plague with a sticker of $43 and laughed. Didn't even bother looking at the other prices for Cascade in the store

I see these becoming shelf turds just like the Eclipse bottles

I was not exactly ecstatic to see these come in the store yesterday, to be honest.
I get it... the Bourbonic is aged like 2.5 years... and if you look at it as it's a nice bottle of wine, $42 shouldn't be all that shocking... but... let's be honest... it is.

Goses take like 2-3 days to brew and should arguably be one of the cheapest beers to make, I couldn't agree more, no Gose should be more than $10 for a 750ml

Did you just make this up? Where did you get that Gose's take 2-3 days to brew? With a combined lacto and saccharomyces fermentation plus additional aging bulk aging before packaging, they're looking at AT LEAST 3-4 weeks. Not to mention the cost of the salts and spices.

    I've brewed my own Gose.

I'm not sure what you're saying here, Gose style isn't oak aged.

Cost of salt and coriander is cheap. This is a low alcohol beer (read: cheap to make) and can be soured in no time. "Time" wise no different than any ale to brew, ferment and bottle condition. Sure if they don't sour mash and sour after boil than it could be a little longer, maybe 2 weeks longer, but it's not even as sour as a Berliner... again this is NOT an expensive style to make.

Really simple grain bill, VERY little hops, some salt and coriander/spices. Whatever is spent on salts/spices is MORE than made up for in the low quantity of grain and hops this style requires.

My homebrew Gose was about the cheapest beer I've ever brewed.

At least Almanac gets it.... they don't go charging $13/375ml for their Gose same as their fruit sours. No, they sell their 22oz Gose for $7-8

Just referring to their production model that has two separate production facilities. Souring and bulk aging takes place at a separate location than brewing and primary fermentation. My main point was that nothing takes 2-3 days from brew day to package.

Maybe this is a better example of how absurd the Gose pricing is:

    Westbrook Gose 6-12oz (72oz) - $12 ($0.16/oz)
    Cascade Gose (25.4oz) - $27 ($1.06/oz) +662%

Yeah, if their Gose costs them so much to make that they have to charge $27 a bomber for it, then they're making it wrong.

I might be off here but I think the pricing on Cascade went way up when they stopped being able to ship beer via their website.

The Gose is $20 at their brewpub - still overpriced - but more reasonable than $27

Dont buy it. Of the few Cascade I've had via trade (can't remember them not being overpriced even years ago), they taste like good $15 bottles largely based on large format. So many better options for so much less .

I love most cascade beers, but this is new hype pricing from the stores and distributor trying to f us in the a. Eclipse. Hoppin Frog. The goes on. It'll either settle down and become reasonable, or cascade will be a thing of the past. My buddy travels to Portland several times a year and brings me bottles at Raccoon Lodge pricing, which is usually very reasonable. He bought me a gose for 17.

Off everything I've tried, nothing beats apricot imo, and I'll continue to buy that one. If for nothing else, the bottle dregs for brewing

Ya, Cascade runs on the expensive side in Portland, so it's gonna be more here.

(I'm heading up there in April. May have to take orders and mule stuff back)
