BrewCipher V3.4.3 is now up for download. This is a minor update. The only new functionality is the addition of a few pieces of information displayed on the BrewDay Print Me Sheet (i.e. Fermentables (total weight), Mash Efficiency, Total Water Needed, Pre-Boil Volume, Boil-Off Rate). This is all information that's also displayed elsewhere (in one form or another) in the workbook.

Perhaps more interesting for some... per some requests, I have written a User Guide and posted it in .pdf format at the same google drive location. It's the first draft, so if you see anything odd or confusing, let me know.

Last thing... someone had requested changing the color of the input cells from yellow to something else to make it more safe for the office. While I decided against this, if you really need some other color, send me a message and I'll make and email you a copy with light grey (or whatever color) input cells.

Forgive me if it does this already, I haven't printed it out or checked, but...

Does it print out the water additions based on the input values needed on the brew day sheet as well?

Yes. And some of the water info is optional on the brew day sheet, depending on settings you set on the water sheet. That way, it doesn't print nonsense for people who don't do any water additions.

Cool man. Discovered the $27 version of office available through the school, now I can finally enjoy the beauty of a big, geeky spreadsheet with stuff that applies to my daily life. I know, I know, you've got to be a geek to get excited about an excel spreadsheet. But how can you also play in a METAL band Al? So many things to so many people...

    I'm an enigma.

I'm having trouble using it on a Mac. Does it not work on Numbers? Specifically, I don't get pull downs for ingredients.

I don't know if it works in Mac Numbers, but I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't. Do Excel pull downs that reference a named sheet range (rather than a simple data validation list) usually work in Numbers? Sorry, no clue here, but it was neither designed for nor tested in Mac/Numbers.

    Vikeman,

I just downloaded the latest version, along with the User Guide. If I hadn't developed my own spreadsheet (that is tailored to my system and process), I'm sure I'd be using your program. Very nice job on the guide. I'm sure it's quite helpful to those getting started with the workbook.

    Cheers!

I don't know, I just got this mac.

Any mac users if you have a fix, I'd appreciate it.

The fix is to get Excel, I'm afraid.
