I recently visited The Devil's Trumpet in Merrillville, IN and tried their 10,000 Days, a Coffee IPA and really enjoyed it. Earlier today, I picked up Arcade Brewery's Graveyard Shit Coffee Pale Ale, which will be consumed later tonight. Anyone have any recommendations for either one of these styles?

I drank a Coffee Strong Ale a couple months back. I can't remember the name of it or who brewed it without looking it (edit: Local Option Mourning Wood Oaked Aged Coffee Amber Ale)up but it just seemed weird to me. It was okay but I prefer the coffee in my stouts/porters; much better pairing.

    I can't even imagine a Coffee IPA.

Pipeworks Attack of the Devil's Lettuce is pretty rad. Plus, you're in Illinois and another couple of batches were just released. Pick that up.

Saw the Pipeworks at Binny's, but didn't pick it up. I'll have to pick up a bottle.

You can only imagine how it smells. :grimacing: Definitely a 1.0. :grinning:

OT: our local nano-brewery, Beer'd, came out with a coffee amber called Crack o' Noon. I had my doubts on the style, but it was damned delicious. I don't really have any recommendations for the style other than: keep trying them.

Monday Night Brewing in Atlanta has a beer called Bedhead. It's a coffee IPA and it's pretty darn tasty. Melds well with the citrusy coffee.

Ft George's Java the Hop has been my favourite so far. It's almost certainly not available in your neck of the woods, but it's plentiful in the PNW, so it would be super easy to trade for if you're into that.

Mikkeller's Coffee IPA is pretty good. I found it for half the price it normally is, so I had no problem buying it.

Captain Lawrence finally bottled and released six packs of their Coffee IPA collab with Stumptown. It was really good. Hopsomniac IPA is the name.

I make very strong coffee and have a SNPA often on the weekends. I drink them in tandem, not mixed, and love the malt blast and the caffeine background. I easily understand making a nicely balanced and very drinkable undark beer that works multiple triggers.
