Hey guys, I am doing research for a School Project, it is dealing with Craft Beer in the DFW area. I would appreciate if you took the time to fill it out. Thanks very much!

My comment on unmet barrel aging need: While I'd love more local breweries to produce more barrel aged brews, they gotta first start with a good beer. Not sure many offerings from DFW would do well in a barrel.

Eh- totally depends on the base beer/ barrel combination. There are several beers around town that would do surprisingly well in a barrel- just a matter of finding the right marriage of flavors to compliment the base.

I agree to a certain point. Like aging the right IPA's on cedar would do that certain beer wonderful. However, many beers from DFW...and from Houston for that matter...shouldn't be in a barrel. Beers that improve, or change for the better, over time should be in a barrel and Texas ain't making too many of those kinds of beers...YET.

Personally aged a small batch of Velvet Hammer in a small bourbon barrel, was quite wonderful.
