So it seems to be common practice at some beer festivals to have an afternoon session and an evening session. Which do you prefer and why? Pros and cons of each?

i like afternoon sessions because they seem more laid back and you get home at a reasonable hour. day drinking is just more fun!

i like afternoon sessions but not morning. Last beer festival was 10am-2 or 3. I prefer 12-5. Don't have to rush and have plenty of time to try the beers you want to try.

If the festival is out of town, we'll usually make a night of it. Spend the afternoon tasting beer and then go to dinner, etc later on.

Oh, hi dry table. So you didn't 'allocate properly/bring enough beer for' 2 sessions? Nice, thank you...

    (always the first session)

Am I the only one who prefers the evening session?

Get shit done all morning when I'm still sober, then drink and crash in my hotel room!

Everyone knows the evening session is 'keggers with kiddies'.

I do both sessions and pound beer in my hotel room between sessions.

Generally, I pour the first session (with some tasting breaks), and drink the second.

Spot on. Afternoon preference for both indoor and outdoor events for these same reasons.

Older crowd tends to go to the afternoon sessions....generally less knuckleheads

Afternoon session, then out on the town with a quality buzz, ending with some awesome stories.

    I prefer both sessions.

It gives me more time. I can go at a slower pace and try everything I want.

Plus there is usually something going on in between sessions for the "all day" people, such as continuing to pour beer or serve food.
