There was 2 cases. I didn't buy any because I still have 2/3 case of 2013 and am in no hurry to buy it. I also had enough in my hands to buy at the time. I have a feeling they aren't supposed to be putting that out yet.

It actually made me question what year we are living in. For a split second, I thought maybe I was warped into 2015.

well...shoot. I applaud your restraint. Care to send a bottle of 2013 to Ohio? You ever had Jackie O's?

Does anyone know if there were actual lines in Colorado last year?

I see that. He confirmed the 35% increase, and only said it had been some time since they had an increase. I'm gonna go tell my boss that I need a 35% increase for performing exactly the same duties. We'll see how that goes. I'm guessing he will no longer need my services. I'm going to be the same way with Bourbon County!

I have a theory that the GI misinformation and pre-Black Friday-release shenanigans part of GI's carefully calculated hype machine. The less info they give causes the more BA speculates, the misinformation also leads to more discussion, and the "accidental" pre-release teases 99% of the country the weeks leading up to Black Friday.

Either their mistakes are really working in their favor, or they have developed some advanced marketing techniques for a new generation of alcoholics.

You got lucky. The last time I saw 4-packs of Bourbon County for less than $21.99 in Illinois was 2008. Was always around $17.99 or $18.99 back then, 2009 was the last time regular BCBS saw a price increase.

The nationwide norm---and the norm for Illinois since 2009 or so---has been around $24 per pack. Assuming you can actually find a pack, of course.

I recall the first time they released the Three Sisters at once, they claimed a lower-than-expected yield from the barrels forced them to release it restaurant-only. They said it wasn't worth it to ship to thousands of retailers in small amounts, it made more sense to release large amounts to specific bars and restaurants in the Midwest, that way no place would sell out and (presumably) more people would get a chance to try them.

Then some distributor accidentally---or perhaps "accidentally"---released Madame Rose and Lolita to liquor stores in New York City.

Does anyone know of any stores in the Denver area that are getting Vanilla Rye or other variants? I heard that my store down the street does not expect to get them this year.

I paid $19.99 last year at Binny's and at Friar Tuck, in Illinois. Vav from Binny's said it was $19.99 for all variants at his store as well. They're going up 35% for us, no idea about the rest of the country.

Anyone worried about the potential quality of the beer this year? I've seen the picture posted here that says the ABV is 14.4% on the regular bourbon county. On Goose Island's website a picture of the 2014 bottle says 13.8%. How can a beer vary that much in alcohol and taste the same?

You look at 2013's it was 14.9% alcohol and in 2012 it was 15% alcohol.

Evil Twin charges just about that for more than 50% less beer for Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Biscotti Break, which tastes almost the same, but with a little more chocolate and less Bourbon. Would you rather buy that?

I would like to see the hideous price increases go away 5 to 10% top end......Not 35% just because we can.

What seriously is the big deal about an increase? Its like $1.25 more per beer. People dont think twice when they go to a bar and spend $6-7 on a beer but all of the sudden something that you want goes up in price and you get all up in arms. Either buy it or not but stop bitching about it.

Do i really care that they are going to get an extra $20 from me? Not one bit.

2013 regular had 2 different abv's. they obviously cant produce that much beer in 1 brew so they made a couple batches. making a beer that big is hard to get exact gravity readings as the batch before. I believe one batch was 14.9% and the other was 14.2% You wont notice the .07% difference.

I just had every 2014 BCS variant including regular aged in Templeton Rye at FoBAB, I wouldn't worry about the quality, they are all delightful.
