Getting ready to see if my favorite beer is toppled by the newcomer 'Citra', first time have Citra.

Will let it get to about 38 - 48F before popping open.

So jelly. Being local to the brewery, I'm curious about your thoughts, if you have any, on the Green Flash acquisition of Alpine?

OH! And my own VBS entry, I almost forgot!

Daisy Cutter Pale Ale courtesy of @blue-dream; Odell 90 Schilling courtesy of @Kramerbarthomer (not pictured); and Lindeman's Cuvee Rene, which was (given what I know about their framboise etc) much better than I expected from the brewery. Shared all three, though only the last one actually in half, with my mom

Sorry if it came off that I'd want, or expect, you to ever get me anything HF Mike, what I meant is that you and @mklisz have each sent me Abner. I was looking for more Mikes assuming there was a correlation between the name and people sending me Abner. Sadly I don't think @Kramerbarthomer is nearly as close to HF as you other Mikes. Much appreciated and it is drinking closer to 4.75 to be honest.

I had the daisy cutter a week or so ago, received it in this most recent round. It was a good refreshing beer to drink during a Flyers game. It wasn't anything mindblowing IMO, but just what I needed at that point in time.

Alpine's 'standards' (Nelson, Duet, Pure Hoppiness) are not really that tough to acquire by trade, you just have to find someone in SoCal to get them for you; I once did an easy swap of a sixer of Jai Alai and a sixer of Ithaca Flower Power for 4 Alpine bombers.

That IS an awesome glass! Tell me more about it @mklisz?

That's awesome, but is it in the right thread?

Well just got home from a long day at work, a scotch tasting, a few beers here and there, and Whataburger. Wife is already asleep and that means I can drink without her judging me. So I need to proudly display this for VBS:

I really enjoyed it. It was different, hard to tie it to a specific style. I got a mixture of chocolate, coffee, and hops with a slightly dry finish. Not what I was expecting at all but it worked for me. I was very pleasantly surprised with it. To me, the addition of sweet bourbon and vanilla would be an awesome addition to this beer. But for #500....hmmm...how adventures are you???

Ha ha -- no it came off fine and I knew you were kidding, I was more making the point that I don't want people to expect HF growlers from me on a regular basis.

The funny part of this is that Plan Bee (who I have mentioned before) had a publicized, limited release the day I was at HF. Usually his farmhouse ales last at least a week or two, but this was a sour he had promoted. He opened at noon, apparently the line started at 9:30, and there were people who drove 3 hours and waited in line for 2 and ended up with nothing cuz he ran out. I first thought "who would do that", until I realized I just had. I also learned if I ever want to get one of his limited releases, I'm gonna get there early and bring something to do (he is literally 15 minutes from my house).

The football game here is starting at 11, so I get an early start. My first Hill Farmstead shared with a friend, who had never tried any before. Thanks again @PA-Michigander .
