I bought some beer at Whole Foods and one of them was a Lost Abbey Deliverance in a 12oz bottle. It's kind of hard to correlate prices to beers at Whole Foods but I was expecting ~$6 I think. It turns out I was charged ~$17 and the description on the receipt is LA SPCL RELEASE. I don't mind paying that if it wasn't a mistake. Is that price about right?

Yep, LA prices are pretty dumb. Best to wait to find it on tap imo.

Lost Abbey's beers usually cost more than a dollar an ounce. I don't think this is unique to the Whole Foods location you visited or Deliverance.

That price is about correct. Deliverance is priced along the same lines as Lost Abbey/Port's limited small bottle formats (e.g. Angel's Share, Agave Maria, Track Eight, BA Santa's Little Helper, Older Viscosity, etc.)

$15 is about what I'd expect for a blend of two barrel-aged beers from two different types of barrel, especially when Lost Abbey is involved (lest we forget their Duck Duck Gooze is $40/750ml). It is a little high, but I would buy it at that price, especially if I hadn't drank it before.

If it makes you feel a little better, they are 375 ML bottles which equals 12.68 oz.

Around $15 I think here in GA.. It's a good beer though, worth trying if you haven't had it.

In general I find Whole Foods to be on the more expensive side, but $17 for Deliverance is not unusual. It is an expensive beer.

Having said that, Deliverance is also my favorite Lost Abbey beer.

Isn't it sold in 375ml bottles like usual?
Or did they start doing 12oz?

Anyway, Lost abbey is overpriced IMO.

Yeah it's a full 45ml more than the standard 330

    It is worth it though

Same you'd pay for splits of Allagash and Russian River. Red Poppy is usually $20-$23 in NJ & PA.
