Fire damages Jackie O's Brewery

That's awful. I'll make a donation for sure!

 

Oh no! I was planning on going to their 9 year anniversary bash, I hope the damage isn't too bad.

 

"When we came out the door, it was a wall of smoke and tons of firefighters running around," Portik said. "I'm blind right now. No money. We didn't grab anything. ... My baby blanket; he's in there."

What the hell?

 

Thankfully it would appear that no one was significantly injured, status pending in the public servants, and certainly thankful that there weren't any casualties.

Thats horrible but Im sure everything will be fine in the long run. The Ohio craft beer community is pretty tight-knit, so Im sure Jackie-O's will be fine.

 

Jackie's O's Public House closed indefinitely the Brewpub will reopen ASAP, the production brewery is off site Fat Head's suggests to buy their packaged products to support them at this time!

 

Brewpub side is small. Damn, what a bad thing to happen but glad everyone is alright.

 

Recovering from a fire is tough. Thankfully Jackie O's production site is a different location, but it is still going to be hard work to recover and rebuild. Good luck Jackie O's, we're rooting for you!

 

This was a young girl who potentially lost all of her worldly possessions. Seems to me like she is scared and worried. She said something to a reporter in a shelter. I think the baby blanket just illustrates that she lost things very dear to her. It is very symbolic of security too. I see nothing wrong, weird, or confusing with her statement.

I wish this young lady, and all others affected by the fire, the best of luck in recovering. Good luck to Jackie O's in rebuilding.

 

Without a kitchen that means that the kitchen staff and most of the server staff is out of a job right before the holidays. Bummer. Hopefully the tap room will reopen soon to get some of them working.

 

What can we do for them and the employees? I feel like our Ohio beer community should do something to help all of them

 

I will talk to Lori and Jay to see if we can do anything for them.

If every BA donated 1 dollar that would be a lot money. If that doesn't work we could always do a donation based beer tasting in central ohio

 

I feel this is an opportunity for all of us, as advocates of beer, to come together and help support a brewery who has been a cornerstone of the beer community in Ohio. I'll do whatever I can to make sure that I support them. Like I said, I'm going to talk to Lori later today and see if we can't do something special to help out down at the brewpub, maybe a portion of all pints towards helping them out or something. I'm sure we'll be able to brainstorm something up.
