    People are so weird. What makes a person decide to completely stop communicating with another person...over a few six packs? Well, @Seanhand_atl owes me a few six packs, and I guess he's OK with tarnishing his name over $36.

    This is my first negative experience with trading. I've seen some of these situations get resolved through Bad Trader threads, so I figured it was worth a shot.

    The trade was my Abyss '09, '11, '12, '13, B-Bomb '11, '12 for 5 six-packs of Expedition Stout. I also sent him some money for a six-pack of Westbrook Gose, after finalizing the initial trade. I admit this was foolish on my part, but he seemed cool. Famous last words.

    He sent me 3 six-packs of Expedition Stout, and then stopped communicating with me last Monday.

    Some highlights from Sean...

    After I thanked him for grabbing the Gose:
    “It's no problem, I do not mind it I figure I might as well get all the good beer karma, and enjoy having money now while it last. I just got fortunate enough to get a great position as Op.Manager so young. When I graduate and get a job hopefully in my future career, I wont be making as much in the beginning, down the road I will make alot more hopefully. But, that would be 3 years or so most likely.”

    After learning that the first box he sent me was confiscated:
    “The possible bad news is. All the boxes I sent out with yours I believe have been stopped by UPS. I am fearing the worst, but hoping for the best. I am gonna tell you the same thing I told my other 2 trade partners. Actually I will just quote it from one of their messages.”

    “I have never had a singe problem with UPS, my fathers company has used them for 8-9 years or maybe more. However regardless of what happened, I guarantee if they are not in route friday night, or sat morn I will post my own bad trader thread. I feel like shit right now"

    He didn't ship “friday night, or sat morn”, he shipped on Tuesday.

    An empty apology from Sean:
    “Sorry about the long wait again my friend, I feel like shit because of the situation. I am contemplating taking a break from trading after we finish our trade up, and I finish up my other 2. I hope the extras I throw in, and keeping in contact with you will keep this trade in good standing order, and not have you angry about it. One of my trade partners went off on me, for having to ship again and making him wait.”

    The 3 six-packs of Expedition Stout arrived on 11/10, but where was everything else?

    “Yeah, after seeing how much shipping cost for the first box, splitting it up made it easier for shipping cost. I will send you the tracking number when I get home from work.”

    “I will make sure to keep you updated as best as possible with my time constraints”

    I haven't heard from him since. I sent him two more messages, sent him a text, called him (voicemail isn't set up), and sent an email. Nothing.

    So this would be the fourth negative trade feedback for this dude. Time to take away his BA title (and account).

    Sorry to see this happen to you, Nick.

    Nick and I trade regularly, and we had a chance to hang out at Jester King last year when he came to SXSW. Great guy, extremely generous trader, and just all around good person. I'd help you out if I could, buddy, but we don't get Bells or Westbrook here in TX (yet)

    I hope this guy comes though, but its hard to believe that UPS "lost" 3 different packages he was sending at the same time - what are the odds? Sounds like he got in over his head, and just cut and ran from multiple people at once. Is there a way you can get your money back from Paypal at least?

    Bad trader epidemic around here lately.

    Thanks Ken! I was so close to trying Gose!!! I'll contact Paypal about a refund, but of course I sent it as a friend, just all around dumb on my part. Lesson learned I guess.

    I think that's exactly what happened, he had too many trades going at once and life got in the way, but just let us know, it's not that hard.

    Who knows, maybe this thread will work and he'll come through! (not holding my breath)

    If you dont get any Gose shoot me a message I dont have a full 6 pack but I should have atleast 2 left in my fridge.

    And while it's great that there are awesome people ready and willing to hook someone up to make it right, it just should not be this way. I know worrying about it is as senseless as beating my head against the wall, but I hate what has happened with increasing popularity of craft beer. Way too many opportunistic __________ these days, and the community is so much worse because of it. Respect beer, sure, but also respect acting like a fucking human being.

    Well, I gotta ask...did you use the trade system? By all means I'm not faulting you if you didn't, but at least you could leave the "appropriate" feedback. I wish there was a way to distinguish ahead of time good traders from bad traders, kinda like the movie LiarLiar. Sorry to hear about this, as it seems to be an ongoing thing around here lately.

    Wow, I am in a LIF with @Seanhand_atl and this is a little odd to say the least. Never traded with him or received anything from him but have shared quite a lengthy conversation over the last few weeks. Didn't mention anything about any of this.

    Hopefully people have your back OP and get you taken care of.

    Maybe I'm out of line or in the minority in thinking this...but if you have to wait until payday so that you can complete a trade, maybe you shouldn't be trading? Just seems like an easy way for something like this to happen...seems like this guy just got overwhelmed/in over his head real fast,real quick, and wasn't out to screw anyone (just my guess). 3 negative feedback all left the same day after 9/10 successful trades seems like someone who just got in over his head. Who knows. Trading isn't cheap.

    @Seanhand_atl we can see you were here looking at this last night at 10:57pm , i hope you contacted the OP and worked things out since you didn't come here to explain. Tho it would be better to come here and tell your side so the community knows you are going to make good here……

    @Brocklanders34 i noticed you left bad feedback for @Seanhand_atl in july, then he left you bad feedback in sept. Can you explain why this happened? Wondering if this was retaliatory feedback?

    Yep, looks like a classic case of someone who got addicted to trading and is in way over their head. Trading is a luxury, not a necessity. This guy has no business trading.

    Nope, haven't heard from him. I'm so glad I posted a Bad Trader thread now, especially after realizing he has ripped off two other traders recently.

    What's the deal Sean? More time constraints? Just make good on your recent trades...and then never trade again.
