If you need a good "lager" - that's a broad category, so I'd say that could range from traditional beers like Hofbrau Helles, Rothaus Tannenzapfle, and Andechser Doppelbock to Jack's Abby Framinghammer.

I don't really like Gose...and unless you name one of the fruited ones I don't think you'll change that opinion.
    Belgian IPA's either.

Have you tried Robert the Bruce by Three Floyds? I find it to be a delicious Scotch Ale; sweet, but not cloying.

    I haven't found a Farmhouse Ale I've liked.

Try Tank 7 by Boulevard Brewing, it's considered a Farmhouse/Saison but is more akin to a really fruity IPA.

I stand correct Framinghammer was awesome. I agree completely that it is broad, but as a broad topic, have not found much in the way of interesting lagers. Jack's Abby makes some of the best I've had, but even their standard fare (Hopunious, Mass Rising etc. don't excite me)

Edit: Gose is a tough category since I feel like there aren't huge variations. Have you had Westbrooks?

I work in a store so even though I don't enjoy pumpkin beers, I try many of the pumpkin beers. Try ST Warlock. Its really sweet just like all the other Blackwater Series beers, but I think the depth of the stout flavors really makes the pumpkin spices more enjoyable. Also, 21st He Said.

I have tried many and have yet to enjoy anything rye.

    Cool idea. I second Ayinger

I also second Old Chub, but my favorite is Skull Splitter. A little thiner bodied.

For me, the only thing I have had that I cant stand is certain types of Farmhouse Ales. I have liked a few (Three Floyds) , but not the Brets. Too champagne like. I actually dont mind a good champagne. Just not combined with funky yeast I guess. I drain poured most of my Wicked Weed Serenity

I second Hennipen, delicious Saison, albeit on the alcoholic side.

Anything Toppling Goliath and Lone Pint Yellow Rose. Not bitter at all, just delicious citrusy fruit bombs.

Of course if it's bitterness you're looking for, look no further than Stone Ruination.

3Floyds doesn't make their way here. I am willing to try though when I am out of state.

Old Chub was one of my recent Drainpours. That beechwood smoked malt made my tastebuds ill. Skull Splitter I will pick up one day.
