Central Waters/Local Option collaboration "La Petite Mort". BBA Weizenbock. I really enjoyed it.

Michigan has a "Small Distillery" license category, so maybe Kuhnhenn holds one of those to be able to create their Eisbocks per the TTB rules that @jesskidden cited.

Yeah that's a great brew, but it's not an eisbock. I definitely want to see more examples of BA German brews, however. I think the clean flavors produced by lagering really allows the barrel character to shine through.

Damn and I thought $30 for a 750ml was high.

In the thread about "which styles you don´t like" i just said Eisbock, and nobody suggested anything. Not that i have had a lot of them, but for some reason i didn´t like the few i´ve had. Other styles which i enjoy may be also sweet and high AVB, but i am maybe not used to Lagers so upped yet, both in flavour and aromas. Will try to correct this asa,p and Aventinus Eisbock sounds good. I´ve enjoyed other beers from Schneider a lot!

Ever try any of the freeze distilled beers O'so made? Eis-Dank was crazy good. Its also such an awesome name. I really like how it sounds when you order, "I will have an Eis-Dank please."

Just seen an Aventius Eisbock on the shelves, not sure whether to pull the trigger...its from 2012.

Yes, pull the trigger. I've had regular Aventinus and Eisbock on tap that was a couple years old. Very good. I also kinda like Granitbock Ice. Not bad.

Well it's a case limit for this release, you shouldn't have too much trouble trading for it, except for it's astronomical price.

I'm a bit confused why I can get the German version from halfway around the world at about $5 a 12 ounce bottle, yet a domestic version costs six times that amount.

At that price, I'd have to drink it, wait till I urinate, collect the urine and revisit.

for a small(er) operation like them, i'm sure the labor hours and space really hit them with overhead (plus the inherently low yield). probably not such that they absolutely have to charge $30 for a 12oz, but i bet they're making very little profit even at that price.

i had some o'so IPA on nitro when i was in milwaukee. expected very little of it (nitro + IPA usually = not my thing) but tried due to it being local. in fact it was nice and dank.

eis-dank sounds awesome... i just looked up the base beer, and it's something after my own heart; i use scottish ale yeast pretty much exclusively when i brew, love dank west coast hops, love spicing shit up with stuff like "brandied oak." the reviews aren't great, but who knows (cares).

The Aventinus Eisbock is the first quality beer I ever tried. Before that it was all of your typical light beers with a Heineken here and there. That was about a month ago and I haven't looked back since. Changed my life.

Eisbocks are the exact opposite of IPA/DIPA as far as shelf life goes. But don't tell the store owner, and maybe you can get a discount because it's "so old".

The bottle I had was a 2012 and it drank wonderfully. Just be sure to ignore the great deal of yeast and don't let it discourage you from enjoying the beer.

Not sure if they'll do it again (since Bill Eye is no longer their brewer), but Prost in Denver had an authentic south German Eisbock last year.

I'd love to try that. All my Denver visits and I've failed to visit Prost. Pretty ashamed. They don't bottle or can too much do they?
