BCBS Pittsburgh 2014

If you don't mind me asking, where did you find them at?

 

Madame Rose is at Caliente Bloomfield for $35 dollars a bottle of course!

 

I've been on the list for a case at a few places, Here as well as in Philly. No one seems sure what they were getting yet. If I end up getting a case or more I'd have no problem sharing with people who don't get any.

 

I will share too if i get a case. i honestly would love any bourbon county i get and will be very happy with it. Variants are great but i will be happy with whatever i can get

 

I can vouch that south hills GE's got them last fall. not very many though. I had friends ship them to me from other cities (chicago and dc respectively) which was super nice of them. but apparently the variants go VERY quickly. I was lucky to get a half a case between my friends in those cities. I don't anticipate that good karma will live on for very long this year.

I'd really love to get my hands on the proprietor's someday because I love coconut but have never had a killer coconut beer ever.

I think I still have about 6-7 bottles of 2013, I love this beer and don't want to part with all of it because my friends took some serious time out of their schedules to find it for me, and I want to see how it does with age. however, if someone has anything good to trade I'd be OK with parting with a bottle or two...

it's a very special occasion kinda beer; very rich and at 14.9% it's pretty heavy. this year's I think is about 1% lower in abv, but supposed to have more dark fruit and be more velvety.

 

You know what's pretty pathetic? I have a better chance of scoring with a Brazilian supermodel on Black Friday than I do of scoring a Vanilla Rye in Pittsburgh.

Anyone hear of possible events going down?

Yeah, there were a few cases floating around at select distributors (I don't think any single distributor received more than 1 case), and the Giant Eagles got some bottles. This is regarding regular BCBCS. The only Barleywine and Coffee variants I saw was at that joke of an "event" that the Sharp Edge had in which each location received one 4-pack of each and sold them at $13 a bottle.

Sucks to see that Philly is getting a motherload of everything on Black Friday, while Pittsburgh will probably get zilch.

 

I didn't even know anywhere even got the Coffee and Barleywines last year. Huh.

 

Hals bottleshop in Ross Twp, got a case of Barleywine as well. I believe they were each $8.

 

House will be tapping it on Black Friday, but no word on bottles yet.

 

I would buy a couple for $8 each. That isn't too bad at all

 

Allegheny six pack had coffee last year too.

 

I will jinx myself by typing this...

But I usually luck out when visiting the in-laws in western NY. It is laughable at places charging $10 a bottle here in Pittsburgh. I am up there over Thanksgiving and looking forward to the Blue Monk event where they will have all the variants on tap (minus Proprieters). Here's hoping I stumble upon some bottles...

When I do find 4-packs they are typically $22-24.

 

I've seen the regular and variants sitting on shelves in upstate NY months after the release. Also in Massachusetts (where I bought several 4-packs of barleywine in February of this year) and Maryland (purchased 4-packs of coffee and barleywine around Christmas). I guess I'll probably never understand how they can't more evenly distribute this stuff.

 

When you say western ny, do you mean anywhere near Rochester? I have a friend up there and may ask him to grab me some if it is widely available there too. Hell i may even take a road trip sometime and just go stock up

 

I was told BCBS will be shipping the first week of December.

 

Just kidding. Bourbon County will be hitting stores Black Friday. Additionally, Whole Foods Wexford will be tapping a keg of it on Black Friday as well. (shill)
