Dude you have no idea, I wasn't kidding about my offer that they can drain pour them without hurting my feelings. I'm incredibly pleased with myself for having made the thing I love so much, but I'm in no way deluded into thinking they're anything like what we all drink on a day-to-day basis.

Objectively I think the stout is pretty good, the porter drinkable, and the APA was drinikable when fresh but I honestly have no idea what has become of it at this point.

Well, come join us in the homebrew section and make your beer what you drink on a day to day basis.

I've been drinking IPA's that are so fresh and hoppier than I'll ever be able to buy in the store, or trade for!

Variety is a spice of life, so having 5 gallons of a good beer is certainly worth sharing. I could bomb ALL of you Chicago jokers AND all you PA snow shovelers, and still have enough beer in kegs to satisfy the coworkers, family, friends, and even the baptist preacher next door!

Speaking of the background to my VBS photos... I mentioned earlier that @Whiskeydeez killed it today and he did. This is IN NO WAY war-related, he was helping me get some Vanilla Buffalo Sweat, another BA I know offered up a Barrel Aged Vietnamese Speedway Stout for some, and I couldn't pass up the offer. The trade only requires 8 cans, but I wanted to include a couple extra, and some of the base (and maybe keep one or two for myself). Beyond that request, I left the rest of the box totally up to him, and he went mad with the power... well, see for yourselves:

    The cans:
4 Hands Cast Iron Oatmeal Brown - Heard good things about 4 Hands but mostly their saisons, looking forward to trying a brown from them.
Defiance Brewing Willy Nilly - Never heard of them, looking forward to the tick
Tallgrass Vanilla Buffalo Sweat (12x) Mainly for the trade but looking forward to another crack at this myself
Tallgrass Buffalo Sweat (2x) Will probably include both in the trade box, but it'll be tough not to keep one for myself
Tallgrass Ethos IPA - Seen it a couple times and was just getting interested, now I get to try it!
Tallgrass Zombie Monkey - Awesome can art, same story as the Ethos
Tallgrass 8 Bit Pale Ale - love me some galaxy hops

    Then the bottles:
Mother's Brewing Winter Grind - Love me some coffee stout, and I was actually just looking for something with "Mom" or "Mother" in it so I could toast Seth's mom on her upcoming birthday. Perfect timing!
    KBS - nuff said
    Prairie Bomb! - nuff said
Prairie Cherry Funk - Been sitting on one, now I can let it keep sitting and still get to try it!
Prairie Hop - Haven't had anything hoppy from them yet, looking forward to it
4 Hands Pyrus - Like I said, heard great things about their saisons
Schlafly Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout - Sounds good to me!
Schlafly T IPA - Heard good things here too
Schlafly Coffee Stout - What's that I said about coffee stouts?
Urban Chestnut Brewing STLIPA - Never heard of it, looking forward to it
Off Color Scurry - All I've heard of from these guys is Troublesome (which @blue-dream just sent me) so now I get to try more than one of their beers!
Stillwater A Saison Darkly - I LOVE the namesake movie, I love saisons, and this one seems quite intriguing
Free State Old Backus Barleywine - Another new tick I'm looking forward to trying out

    Then the tits:
    Awesome Schlafly tulip

Hell of a haul man, I have no idea how I'll put together a box this awesome. I hope you're patient because I really want to send something at least this great, but that might take a little while.

I got through about a dozen batches last fall, and haven't brewed since January. It was about January that my 2nd child (now 16 months old, then 6 months) got to the point of being mobile. Not a coincidence. I wish I had time, even in those few batches I learned so much and was just getting to a point where the beer was pretty decent (that Irish Stout, for example) and I also have learned that the homebrew shop's recipes for hoppy beers WAY under-utilize the key ingredient. I can't wait for a chance to get back into it, but it was not the results that caused me to stop.

Preach it. My brewing has dropped off, because I have 14 month old identical twin boys.

I now brew 2-3 batches at a time once I drag out the setup and fire up the mash tun and kettles.

Anyways- keep at it, and while I'm confident in my beers, I always welcome candid feedback, as I can nail some styles, but other elude me!

We will have to swap some beers sometime- homebrew and commercial perhaps.

Sounds like a plan; I've got some mead, cider, and a vanilla bourbon imperial stout that have all been sitting since at least my final brew day of last year; they should all get bottled asap and I'm optimistic about each. Would love to get an experienced homebrewer's feedback. I'll let you know when those are ready and I'll put something together for you.

    For sure!

I've got a 14% stout that was pulled from a balcones bourbon barrel in June, and I've got a brown ale that I just pulled from the barrel after the stout. Would love to share them.

I always have a fresh IPA or IIPA on tap to share, and usually a porter, or a lager of some sort. Berliner or Gose in the spring-summer as well.

Got a spontaneous fermented saison with some wicked weed and stillwater dregs, a golden lambic, and a sour stout that is aged in bourbon barrels, with sour cherries, that will be ready in the spring and summer.

-No Bells in the Northeast, so Expedition is always always welcome. Love it.
-Sad to admit I was unfamiliar with Fulton's 'War & Piece', but based on the description couldn't be more excited.
-Challenge bottle still covered as I will wait until I can post proof of completion - Probably need the Holiday wkd.

Only need two more bottles to have the box fully re-packed... Shopping tomorrow.

Does that mean you passed on one of the covered bottles? You're a brave man, that or the rest of the box was overwhelmingly good (I don't remember what was in it) ... I don't know if I could pass up finding out the unknown unless I couldn't bear to part with any of the uncovered bottles I was keeping.

It was absolutely a great box - I'm currently torn between taking a last bottle from the box OR unwrapping. Gonna be a game-time decision before shipping after I hunt for a final two bottles to potentially add to the box.
