Wow sorry for taking logistics and planning seriously. Being in logistics it would cost me my job missing a ship/release date unless its force majeure. Any other industry its not okay to have a date on your website and not having product to market by that date. I understand challenges of a move but since they are going to be one of the State's larger brewers maybe its time to think like one. But that's okay its Surly we'll give em pass like always.

Where are you seeing a guaranteed November release date on their website?

It actually says December on the website. Also, beer isn't logistics. It involves logistics, but it is a living product. Beer is ready for release when it says it is, not when brewers want it to be. Certainly some styles are easier to dial into a specific date, but it's not really ever a guarantee.

I don't really understand how you can begrudge them this, though. It's for the best in the long-run, and that's what we should all be concerned about, not the short-term. It sucks, no doubt (especially losing out on Wet), but there's plenty of great beer out there that we can make do in the meantime. Be grateful that the great beer of Surly will soon be available in far larger quantities.

It said Mid-November a week and a half ago when I checked last. Guess I should have looked before trolling.

Granted beer is a living thing but still a product.

Logistics issues have played out positively in the past e.g. the story of Lagunitas Sucks and Brown Shugga. Just dissapointed that Abrasive got pushed back was counting on it to send to friends in Philly.

I can't wait for Abrasive to release...but really?

Unless you pre-paid for Abrasive AND were given a date to expect it...you are mistaking apples for orangutans. *not an auto-correct

I'm sure Surly feels really bad that you won't be able to illegally ship their product to people in Philly exactly when you wanted to.

Lol, this was a great read...

Coming from a guy who owns a logistics company, my favorite part was that said companies don't miss deadlines/deliveries/pickups. Um...ok.

    Now, how bout that abrasive...

I would love for Abrasive to be year-round too but I think it is unlikely due to the Citra hops used. Getting a huge Citra hop contract to allow Surly to brew Abrasive year-round would be difficult.

I got two bottles from Lunds downtown (overpriced, btw) and had one, it was great. Had another from Cub Liquor in eagan (18$) and that was great.

Maybe im just hitting the 'right place, right time' lottery.

Unbelievable. I can't believe I won't have Abrasive in my grubby little hands until mid-December! The nerve of Surly! How dare they take on a massive brewery expansion before consulting every entitled consumer first! I am never buying their products again, except when I buy their products again!

Not good. I heard allocations of abrasive were going to be based on sales of Hell, Bender and Cynic
