He ships first? Although I see you you only have one documented trade as well, so.......

Saw this as well. The guy claims to live a half mile from RR. He told me he would ship first after I sent a message to him about it. I guess trust him until he fails to deliver...

The trade hasn't been finalized. It feels a little too good to be true. I'm going to request he ship first however since he hasnt completed any trades.

I do only have 1 completed but its more to show for than none.

Did you agree to trade with him. He told me his original two hearted trade fell through, so he hit me up.

I thought bells started distributing to CA. They don't have it listed on seekabrew but I have seen online bottle shops in CA that sell Bells

@Srkolodn no i didn't, I decided i didnt have the funds currently to ship to Cali again and told him if i was ever in need to RR stuff I would hit him up again. From our convo he seemed to be reliable with good communication, but i see what you mean about it sounding fishy. I think the fact that he was asking for Two Hearted (which is one of my favorite beers, but i assumed would be easy to get in Cali) was what would send a red flag. But with that being said, I'll trust someone until they prove otherwise.

As long as he ships first, you should be fine.

I don't know what kind of Bells distribution is happening in NorCal, but I'm in San Diego right now and I've seen Two Hearted, Oberon, Expedition, etc. at multiple stores here, so they ARE in CA.

Hello all. Im the fool making RR trades for Two Hearted. I also asked for Zombie Dust, Heady, or "good beer I can't get in CA" but (almost) everyone hit me up about Two Hearted.

Yes, two hearted is in Southern California but I am in Northern California and this is a big damn state. I am probably 6-8 hour drive to any store that stocks it.

I have been offering to send first in every trade I have set up. (Sorry if I didn't make that clear Srkolodn.)

I realize its a slightly lopsided (therefore suspect) trade but there are two reasons:

    1) Im a new (beer) trader and am trying to build some feedback. I thought shelf beer for shelf beer was a good way to start as long as the $ values were pretty close. Since I am 1 mile from RR, anything in their current shop is a shelf beer to me! Sure, once I get my ratings up I doubt i'm going to want to do charity work all the time. Im just trying to pay my dues.

    2) I just love Two Hearted! I "lived" in New York for one month (while working on a project) and got totally hooked. I like what I like!

Anyways - my first 4 trades are in the fridge and will be packed and shipped this morning. Running out to get more shipping supplies after I hit send on this message.

No hard feelings - I have been in the trading game for years... just not BEER trading. I've been in the record game for almost 20 years. I have sent extremely rare records worth over $1000 to places like Italy and Mexico before in exchange for equally rare and irreplaceable items... I also buy, sell and trade a lot of denim that is so limited and expensive it would make people here shit their pants. I can provide miles of references about my trustworthiness in other forums specific to those cultures which would at least speak to my reliability.

@Srkolodn - ill text you this morning.
    @kmello69 - CUTE BOSTON!!!!!!!!!!!

Totally reasonable for you to be on edge and ask around. All good.

I will add that I am not very social-media savvy. I've never had a myspace, facebook, twitter, instagram, snapchat or whatever and only reluctantly started posting on message boards around 2008 cause it was the only way I could land this really rare record I was hunting down. I think the networking and trading effects are incredible but I lament the new "mystery free world" of forums and sometimes I avoid them myself just so I can still walk into a record (or beer) stores and pick something up and say "I wonder what this sounds (or tastes) like". That may be too much information, but I hope it explains the suspicious condition of me being a beer fan for years while only recently registering here.

Anyways, I invite anyone to correct me or provide pointers if I am using this place incorrectly.

$50 in shelf beer/ shipping isn't enough for me to get worked up about making someone ship first regardless of how many trades they have. The only trade I almost got screwed on was with a well established trader a few years ago, but his buddies came thru after I called him out.

This exactly. I'd rather risk loosing some beers, especially shelf, and start a new trade relationship out with full trust. If it were something rare/limited, then that's a different story. I, too, got screwed by someone with 30+ trade feedbacks AND traded with before. I've only asked 1 low/zero feedback trader to ship first once because Prop was involved. Those who I trusted from the start, never forgot and I have many great trading partners because of it.
