Elysian makes some killer pumpkin beers too - Night Owl is by far the best pumpkin ale I've ever had, edging out even '12, '13, and '14 pumpking.

Never got around to drinking Warlock. Still makes me sad that I didn't buy a bottle and throw it in my parents basement for when I'm back in the states.

Always find these lists interesting. I had Pumking (and Warlock for that matter) at the very bottom and DFH Punking and the Brooklyn Post Road as middle of the pack. Pumple Drumkin was my co-winner with the Fisherman's Imperial Pumpkin Stout. My surprise of the them all was the Harpoon UFO Pumpkin which rated pretty high for me as well.

I'm surprised to see Shocktop pumpkin was higher then the Dogfish pumpkin

Uinta oaked jacked pumpkin is the best out there IMO and in live right near southern tier. Schlafly just tasted boring and average to me

That list needs more Elysian. Especially Punkuccino. That might be the best pumpkin beer I've had.

I'm surprised to see DFH so low. I've always considered it to be one of the better pumpkin beers, though I haven't had it the past couple of years.

Glad to see Heavy Seas Greater Pumpkin - easily my favorite pumpkin beer of 2014 - safely above Shock Top and Blue Moon! Other than Pumking on draft, it's the only pumpkin beer I'll be seeking out in 2015. Sure I'll try a few more but overall pumpkin beers have disappointed me this year.

If I had prepared this study, Schlafly would not have been there because I have never seen it here. Flying Dog's The Fear would have been on the list. We need to remember that these "Studies" are limited by funding, availability of product, and the analytical abeerities of the sponsor's friends. That said, it was still interesting: just don't read too much into it. I personally was not surprised at Terrapin's poor showing - this year's offering seemed off to me as well.

Interesting. When you compute averages I think you should just include people who tasted everything; otherwise each score gets a different set of biases. E.g., person #3 ('Kathy'?) didn't taste 2013 Pumking, but she didn't like 2014 Pumking so much, which means she pulls down 2014's score and doesn't pull down 2013's.

I like Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin the best I've had. But then I've only had a few and, until now, never heard of Schlafly....

I can't stand Cisco, BM, Smuttynose or Shock Top...not a fan of Shipyard's either...they got better scores than I would have expected...must have been a good time for all. How come some people didn't score all of the beers?

    No.

As with any heavily hyped beer, there are certainly some outspoken non-fans. But overall, I'd be willing to bet a lot more people on this site love it than hate it.

Schlafly Pumpkin and Flying Dog "The Fear", were my two favorites this year. Hands down.

Schlafly was my favorite until tonight. The Central Waters Headless Heron may have replaced it.

For sure, everyone's tastes run a bit different. But when I see Shipyard Pumpkinhead rated anywhere in the top half of a list like this, I have serious questions about the group of tasters.
