    most of these are drinking so smooth i hope i don't end up bombed before i know what hit me, the unlabeled bottle is one of the participant's homemade barley wines and it's very impressive. stay warm everyone, drink beer:slight_smile:

    I was up working in Massachusetts again on Friday, stopping at Yankee Spirits in Sturbridge on the way back from the job, and picked up a few beers brewed in the Commonwealth that I have yet to try. This one caught my eye, just because of the name: Wigglesworth India Wharf Pale Ale. When I poured it initially it was mostly foam, even when tilting the glass. I let it settle for about 5 minutes, and it still had a very thick head that lasted as long as it took to drink it. I attribute that to the bottle conditioning. Light amber in color, the first sips revealed mild piney hops flavor, and some mild bitterness on the finish. I think that word describes it best: mild. Not a strong English IPA, nor a hoppy flavored West Coast IPA, but in between - perhaps the Wharf has something to do with it. Pleasant, but not memorable (except for the name!)
