Casey Brewing and Blending

Any idea what beers are going to be included in the society membership?

 

It will be ten beers TBA in the future from the email Troy sent out. No details but we can expect greatness IMO.

 

From the email:

"What beers are you expecting will be allocated for our reserve? We expect to allocate beers from blends that are less than 40 cases and are only made once or twice a year. There will be a mix of special beers from our farmhouse beers and our yet to be blended Belgian-style sour beers. Think beers such as Balaton and Blackberry Belgian-style sour, which contain around 2 pounds of fruit per gallon of beer. Beers we make more often like Saison will not be part of the reserve allotment, though they will be available for additional purchase online."

"Why don’t you offer any exclusive beers to this club?We are not planning on offering any exclusive beers for members because we want to make sure everyone has access to our beers. As a member, you’ll haveeasier access to them since we are reserving beers and allowing you to purchase most other beers online prior to their public sale. "

 

I like the way he handled it. Members get access to the stuff first, BUT the beers are still available to everyone else if they make the effort, too. Everyone wins.

Colorado Springs here. Anyone going this weekend who'd be willing to trade/mule the release beers? Family commitments are conspiring to keep me from going. Ton of trade rep over on /r/beertrade if you need.

Also, I'm late to the party here having never been to one of his releases, did not get invited to the reserve society. Anyone on here who DID get invited interested in splitting this with me? I'm certain we could work something out. Need some Fruit Stand in my life!!

Those of you that have been to previous releases, generally what time should one be there to get in line? I'm going to be in Denver this weekend and am debating making the trek over to Glenwood for the release. Thanks in advance!

 

It's tough to say at this point as there have only been 5 releases so far and one was during GABF week. My first trip was in August and I arrived in the middle of the afternoon - got bottles no problem. The second time was September, showed up around 10:30 and there were about 25 people in front of me - I got all the bottles I wanted but some did sellout shortly after. From what I heard about last month's release, it was about the same.

 

Good to know. I was aiming to try and arrive at like 10:00-10:30 ish anyways so that is perfect. They do have glassware for sale as well right? And is it cash only or cards are okay?

 

They do have glassware typically $10. Will take cash or credit for bottle sales
