It's always possible that my place was way cheap. They occasionally price things a lot cheaper than they should, especially on new stuff. Not sure if that's there fault or the distributor's. (I'm guessing the distributor as every time the owner has checked a price like that against the price they paid for it, it was in line). Either way, I'm not complaining

Picked up 2 Old School, a pint of Highland's Cold Mountain winter ale, and after a 10% discount for being a member of the local homebrew club, left with a $11 and change bill. I'm quite okay with that

Hope we're talking about Old School, as I haven't had Old Stock in a while. I don't know if I'd say this year's was fruit forward or not, but this was the first year I've had it so don't have a basis of comparison. Looks like the ABV% varies a bit year to year and, while I do like most of NC's beers laws, we do have a cutoff of 15%, which this year's version pegs. I'm not much at tasting figs and dates, but I definitely caught some of the flavors I'd normally associate with those kinds of fruits. Probably not so much that I'd call it fruit forward, but maybe. It certainly had something that made it interesting, and maybe that was the fruit in there.

That price sounds about in the ballpark. I expect Old School to be about $12/4 pack.

$10 each is highway robbery. That's more than I pay for WWS or 120.

Definitely the type of flavor I'm referring to. I think it is actually dates.

@treznor and @Lehighace06 -- in case you care -- took picture on phone, uploaded via photobucket app, copied the link. Then went to ba website (NOT app) and uploaded. All on my phone.

I think New York is as bad or worse... One huge bottle shop near me has a great selection but is pricy (they are the site of my $19 for a 12 oz Uncle Jacob's stout). However, they will probably release right at 10am on Friday and tend to get a pretty good sized allocation, my kids who are visiting for thanksgiving might not get to sleep in. There is also a grocery chain near me with a great beer selection, I will call them Wednesday and see their timing... With any luck I can hit both of those places, although they are in opposite directions from me.

And the kicker is that the place I frequent near work typically puts stuff like this in a lottery, with any luck I can sign up next Monday and have a chance at getting something from them too. That being said, I would be thrilled with one coffee and one vanilla.

    2nd beer for the night.

I like the use of habaneros and spices.

Soooooooooo.....are we doing a fall sixer, like we did a summer sixer? I hate to be that guy, but I'm ready for a target. Also, this is my favorite time of year for beer. I love stouts, barrel-aged beers, and pumpkin stuff.

I've done it that way a couple times. I usually just use my laptop because its nearby, always on, and the website is a bit fiddly on my phone because of all the small buttons (and my large fingers). Good to know it works for you!

Glad to hear it. It's a really solid $4 beer. It was actually slightly under $4, which is about what I'd expect for a $12/4 pack to cost if its broken out into singles. For $10? I'd probably have to reevaluate. For $10 I probably would have opened one up and drank it and then decided to not get another to age (though its probably better with a bit of age on it). For $4 I gladly picked up an extra (and would have picked up one or two more but there was a limit of 2 and I got the last 2 in the store).

I really want to say no, because between joining the 12 days of xmas BIF, making my first few trades, getting one or two "surprise" boxes in the mail, and winning three LIF's!! I am overloaded. That being said, I guess I will just to offer an LIF or two and send a couple of thank you boxes myself, and as long as it's just a sixer participate in this.

And I think we should call them "seasonal sixers". Of course, since I'm supposed to get 6 inches of snow tomorrow, this might already count as winter.

We just need a volunteer to run it -- if necessary I will do it again, but would rather get to try and figure everything out. Plus, this is a good opportunity for somebody to appreciate the torture involved in doing it.

edit ... And @UcDru just volunteered to run things after I posted...
