Stuff is terrific. Wow. Definitely getting a hint of vanilla at the end.

Just as I remember. The aroma is killer... like a warm barrel-soaked blanket. Definitely a hint of vanilla.

I'm really curious how the next batch of barleywine will be. It seems they've really nailed down mouthfeel after Sixteen, and they really only seem to be improving overall.

The future is blindingly bright for CW's barrel program, especially after they added so much space and are possibly dabbling into wilds more. With them, O'so, Funk Factory, Black Husky, Tornado, and Karben4 all really coming into their own, it's no longer just the New Glarus show here. It's a wonderful time to be a Wisconsinite.

Excellent stuff! Drinking my second of evening right now. Still have one bottle of 2013 left... but this stuff is Best fresh and do I pick up more vanilla notes on the 2014. Best bang for the buck out there on a B A stout. just as good if not better than last year.

I thought their scotch ale was better than the previous batch, too.

The 2013 was killer. I need to grab some 2014 before it disappears.

How much is this a 4-pack in Wisconsin? Does this sit on shelves for a while/ do any of the other reserve ones?

I paid $14.99 in Illinois, and my store has tons of it. Glad to hear it's better fresh, as I was going to store them.

Looking for some in IL as well. My Binny's doesn't seem to get CW 4-packs anymore :slight_frown:

    $12.99-14.99, depending on the shop.

The stout doesn't stay around too long, about a month or so. Sometimes there is a second shipment. Every once in awhile you'll find it a year later at small shops that don't move pricier craft beer quickly.

I haven't seen 2013 stout for about 6 months, but there are a few shops that still have 2013 BW on the shelf and maybe even a BB Cherry Stout or two.

I do think it ages very, very well. Did a 3 year vert tasting last year and all of them were outstanding, with the 2011 being my personal favorite at the time.

In my experience, this nor the BBBW sits around long at all. Last year I got some, then waited too long to get more and lost my chance. I agree with others, the stuff is great!
It's 12.99 at Discount in Milwaukee.

12.99 or so in Madison, seems to be around for 6+ weeks. I thought the 2013 was pretty hot fresh, so sat on a 4 pack and opened one last week. WOW, it was incredible.
