I have finally reached a personal milestone of mine by tasting and rating 100 different beers. What a fun, and tasty, trip it has been. As I was sitting at about 95 beers, I thought, maybe I should make my 100th a special one. So I went to the largest beer store around my area (about a half hour away), and looked around for something that peaked my interest. I came across this lovely brew and found a new favorite for myself. It made me start to think though, what about everyone else, what milestones were important to you? Was it your 100th, 200th, 500th, or something else? Do you remember what you had to mark that milestone?

I never really kept track of where I was at till recently, just kept ticking. I recently had My bottle of Firestone Double DBA that I had been saving for about six months to mark 650. It was worth the wait, but it's hard to handle the fact that they are retiring it :slight_frown:.

Who would keep track of such things? oh wait....

    #100 Wild Rose IPA 4.0/5
    #500 Pannepot Old Fisherman's Ale 4.58/5
    #1000 Cantillion Fou'Foune 4.3/5
    #1500 Dark Lord 2012 4.05/5
    #2000 Hunahpu's Imperial Stout 4.55/5

#2500 should happen sometime next year, any suggestions?

Isn't that just the luck? Find one you love and then it is gone. Sorry to hear, I guess this is one I will never try either sadly.

This one I posted, while not going away, I found out shortly after trying was only seasonal. It's only available for about 4 months of the year. This is one that I could easily drink year round. All well, as long as they don't ever ax this one, I will be happy.

I really like that TIPA, nice choice. I'm at 372 distinct beers and 505 total check-ins, according to Untappd. Looking forward to ticking St. Bernardus Abt 12 on Thanksgiving and Huna on Christmas Day, but I have a lot in the cellar ready to try: Olde School, Stickee Monkee, Double DBA, Velvet Merkin, a few RR sours, BCBS, World Wide Stout...

Looks like I need to start opening some stuff!

Haha! Wow! What a list, man, I don't think there is a beer I could recommend that you haven't probably already tried! Congrats on that milestone though, I have a loooooong way to go to get there. If the first 100 is any indication though, I am hooked!

That's awesome, definitely some very unique ones around the corner for you. I just picked up a mixed 6-pack and a couple bombers yesterday and have to get to popping some of those!

Nice! Yeah, I tend to hoard stuff, but I might as well drink it. I also have a couple of Pliny's, Zombie Dust, a Moloko, a Birra/Dogfish My Antonia, a couple of year's worth of 120 Minute, and "lesser" stuff like Pipeworks Imperial End of Days just sitting in the basement cellar collection waiting to be opened. I need to drink the hoppy stuff while it's fresh and then start on the other stuff. No sense waiting on it when I haven't had it, but I buy more than I can drink...

I had a Fou Foune at 500, recently drank a Le Sarrasin for my 1000th unique on Untappd. Next big milestone on Untappd is 2500, I'll need to find something real special for that. I imagine I'll be close to that in early 2016, so I've got some time to find the perfect beer.

    100: Mother's Brewing Lil' Helper
200: White River Brewing Table Rock Red Ale
    300: Core Brewery Leg Hound
    400: Anthem Brewing Core Punch

I hit 400 on Monday and now I'm trying to figure out if I've got something special, stored away somewhere, to have for Thanksgiving even though it's not a milestone.

500 is creeping up on me fast (I'm at 492) and I have an idea what to have for the occasion, but my road trip needs to pan out first. I didn't start to notice until 400, and then I picked Kasteel Cuvee due Chateau.

If all works out, 500 will be a Bourbon County beer.

I am at 1565 total ratings but I am approaching 1000 reviews (at 965) very soon and I look forward to writing that. I want to get to it before my 8 yr anniversary on BA. I don't know if I will pull something from my cellar to review or trade for it but I want it to be as special as these 2.

I got Untappd about 300ish beers after I started rating on here. I don't really focus on milestones. I like to do something a little beyond the norm, but I don't go crazy about it. If I got my hands on a beer that I really wanted, for example, I wouldn't hold off to make it a milestone rating.

Congrats on the 100 milestone. I hadn't really paid close attention to my beer count lately until reading your thread--realizing now I am currently just one shy of you (99). Due to current geographic circumstances, my 100 will probably be simply ordinary. I will make up for that in due time, however.

    Cheers!

I have the same problem, it all just looks so good! I want to try it all, then I have way too much and it takes me a while to get through it. First world problems I guess. lol

1500 new beers in a year or so?!?! I commend you if you can pull that one off! I would maybe pick out something really good to age, and save it for that milestone.

    #300 - Oppigards Winter Ale
    #400 - Dark Horse Plead the 5th

Didn't realize my milestones aren't too bad overall for not planning it. I will likely let the cards fall where they may for 500 as well and see what happens.
