Aaron is the best i've had BY FAR. I liked it more than King Henry or BCBBW or Mother of All Storms.

Haven't had Deal with the Devil yet though.

If you're open to some stylistic freedom of interpretation, Brown Shugga is pretty nice and doesn't do the biting bitterness that it sounds like turns you off of fresh barleywines like Bigfoot.

Sebago's Bourbon Barrel Aged Barleywine is still hanging around quite a few places from last years release and this year's just dropped as well. It is top notch and flies under the radar.

If you are lucky enough to score some Surly Eight go for it! Had some on tap and I don't think it will age (the bourbon barrel has done that already!).

might be hard to find (and technically is an Oat Wine since they used oats not barley) but I was blown away by the awesome

The best Barley Wine is going on sale on black Friday. That doesn't help you for Thanksgiving, but it's a good consolation prize if you can get some. So delicious....

Definitely in search of this one. It doesn't sound like my area is getting any variants, but we'll see.

Try to find Sebago bbbw. WAY under talked about. Better than Sucaba and cheaper.

Jack's Abby has Bride Maker, which is barrel aged. Not sure if they're bottling it of if they just have it on tap, though.

I'm seeing in Central Indy plenty of 4 packs of Brooklyn Monster Ale on the shelves. Given that these are at least a year plus old (brewing ended in Spring, 2013) these should be entering the "sweet spot" of tastiness. Hopefully they're still floating around your area as well.

Might want to trade for some CW Brewers Reserve BWA. Mighty tasty. I've got two left from this year.

Aaron is ready to go right now, but it will be some hustle to get one in time for thanksgiving. perfect time to give a shout out to @furthurgone who hustled to get out a growler of Mash and Coconut to land right in time for the holidays!

perfect time for barlywines for sure!

It's going to be me drinking Solstice D'Hiver from Dieu de Ciel, which is fine, but I'd rather have set that aside. Why? I don't know. It's going to snow like crazy, it seems.

Let's keep this going, though. Winters are long and cold. Need accessible BW's.

English-style Barleywine and American-style Barleywine are 2 different styles. Looks like the OP only tried American-style. Check out Weyerbacher Insanity.

That's an Old Ale, not a Barleywine. Great Divide Hibernation is an Old Ale too.
