How'd the BCBS release go for you? Madison got stiffed compared to previous years. Only one case of the vanilla, barleywine, and coffee to each location that even received the rare releases. Only Woodman's and Hyvee actually released the rare ones for purchase. All our liquor stores raffled them. I was lucky to get three of each variety and 36 of the original.

Lucky to get 45 bottles of Bourbon County and variants? This appears to basically be a brag thread for you, but congratulations.

No problems here. Went into 3 places after work, all 3 had it. I got it at 2, one of them I don't think had a limit, but I did.
I skipped getting it at the third - they wanted $30 for it, one of the others was $20, the other $24.
Didn't get any of the varients, just the Stout.
That's OK... I should be able to get hold of at least the BW, if not the others.

9 stores and 16 bottles all BCBS. BW was the only other variant distributed in ATL and still had 5 from last year so I figured I would stick to BCBS. Long morning driving

I didn't leave the house and enjoyed the beer I already had at home. It was great!

Louisville, KY didn't get any of the Vanilla or Proprietors. Went to a store and people were parked in their cars, so I got out and was first in line. After I got in line others jumped behind. They were only allowing 1 four pack person. I got the Coffee first then went to my car and took off my jacket, sweatpants (shorts on) and hat and got one of the regular. Went home and sent my wife to get a pack of barleywine. Looking for trades nothing ridiculous just some good stouts that I can't get here.

Showed up at 5:30am for a 9:00am store opening, 10th in line out of 100 or so. Got all of them so I'm pleased. Tasted my first ever BCBS about 45 minutes ago. I will do it again next.

As for a story, about 15 minutes before the store opened, the wife of the first guy in line showed up and jump in line with him, so they could double their allotment. This effectively screwed someone who stood in the cold for 2 hours out of the variants. Several of us talked about saying something but we didn't because we knew we were getting ours. I don't feel good about that.

I didn't know there were black Friday deals for beer! In Ohio it is illegal! SUCKS! You also can not look for beer on-line!

Actually didn't mean to brag. I've seen some pretty lofty hauls from today so I wasn't aware what the national average was. I more wanted to hear about availability in other areas.

How far do you live from Chicago? Because when I was there a few years ago, at the Clybourn brewpub they had it on tap in the summer and seemed like it was a standard they always had on. Although that was before the AB buyout.

If places are getting less than last year (which does seem to be the case for some areas, as GI expands further), is that not even more of a reason for people to show some restraint, and not go from store to store buying as much as possible, thereby allowing other people a better chance to get hold of some?

Seems that community matters less and less these days, judging from the OP, from some of the comments, and just by the fact this thread even exists.

People got on line at 5am for it in NYC (LOL). I'd rather do that for a 55" flatscreen. At least you're getting a bargain for it on black Friday.

I had to work, didn't buy anything for black friday. After work local bottleshop had tapped BCBS, and i was able to have one. Successful day. Damn all that hoarding beer just to wave your beer-dick around. If i did stumble upon a 4 pack i'd rather drink one and hand the other three out to someone who hasnt had it before.

I got a four pack of BCBS on Wednesday and relaxed today.

If we got coffee in Colorado I would have spend the day hopping around.

    Obvious troll thread is obvious.

Or if you're actually serious, you are part of the problem.

Kansas City, a market that has seen the rye variant and coffee in past years, didn't see a single bottle of either, so I'd say your belief that Madison was "stiffed" is lacking some perspective. Again, if this is a serious thread.

EDIT: You are also part of the problem. If serious.

Got up at 6:00AM and headed to Southern Indiana as I knew Kentucky wasn't getting Vanilla. Two stores had sold their full allotment early in the week and then had no luck with a lottery drawing at another store. Ran over to Louisville to try to at least get some regular BCBS, and after about 8 stops, I got one four pack. Better than nothing I guess but was hoping to find a bit more after running around all day.
