I got the last 4 pack of BCBS and no variants at an ABC after waiting 30 minutes in line before a 9:00 am opening. Then I called a buddy in a different city and he grabbed me 1 BW and 1 Coffee. I had a flight of all 4 from WOB and let's just say I'm not disappointed that I didn't get a Vanilla.

My preference is: Coffee, BW, Regular, Vanilla.

I'm very happy with what I got today. Cheers!

+1, also BCBS was on tap at TapWerks this afternoon, but I couldn't make it down there to try any.

    How is this a story?

Should rename the post to "I got x amount BCBS, how much did you get"?

SW Chicago Suburbs - Screwed to the tune of close to $40 on a vanilla at first place with one bottle/four pack limit. Second place "only" charged $25 for bcbs 4 pack, but at least the lady there was sympathetic to my plight.

This was my first and will probably be my only time searching out this beer. The first bottle of the bcbs I got today was phenomenal, just a bit below 2013 rye barrel aged bc with berries that I had last night. I'll age the vanilla before trying it and I'll buy any bc I see at jewel or Mariano's. But I think I'm done with this ride, and will continue to concentrate on getting as much Pipeworks as possible instead.

    Game of Jones, anyone?

My brother-in-law and I walked into TW this morning with bandanas over our faces and loaded shotguns, loaded up my SUV and then took the kids to soccer practice.

Busy in the morning, stopped at three stores between 3 and 4 pm and all three were sold out. Not a big deal. Plenty of other beer in the world

Shame on all of you that gamed the system though. I see this crap all the time at Russian River. Line cutters, people changing their shirt and getting back in line, people filling growlers under the table of tap-room only stuff. It's supposed to be fun, but greedy dorks make it a real drag. It's a small community of incredibly generous people and me and my friends always notice and steer clear of the greedy ones.

    Oh, and happy thanksgiving.

Lookin like whole foods is starting to be my go to spot for beer releases like this .. All the local shops seemed to be screwed (or so they say) out of their allocation of bourbon county stuff .. I stopped by 2 of my favorite local spots and they just came up with excuses of why they didn't have BCBS ..

The difference in this years BCBS release is how I had to go to a bigger store like WFoods rather than my local mom and pop shop. Sure they could be getting a shipment trickle in this week but kinda sucked out a lil bit of the fun .

I think I'll try to remember today more for what I drank (in order) than the cash I spent on BC.
    1. BCBS 14 - I complain, but this was almost perfection
    2. Flying Dog K9 winter - better than expected
    3. Revolution Fistmas - tasty, great color
    4. Southern Tier X2Mas - still trying to figure this fucker out
    5. Hailstorm Prairie Madness - says 100 ibu's, but sure doesn't drink like it. I enjoyed this more than the recent Zombiedust six pack I had.
    6. Lagunitas Brown Shugga - how come you taste so good, bitch?

My Black Friday was awesome. I rode my unicorn into DC to pick up 8 cases of BCBS and a case of BCBCS. I was only able to get 6 vanilla though which was an outrage. My unicorn (His name is Thread Brag) was hungry after the haul so we headed to our favorite restaurant to have some golden caviar. We came home. I grabbed a nap. Now I'm sipping a Heady chasing it with sips of Kentucky Brunch.

I acquired some very rare non BCBS beer in a very civilized fashion without pushing, shoving or any act of random violence.

Got a little of the regular, no coffee or vanilla to be had anywhere in RI. I'll get some eventually, not very concerned.

Actually I blew it off and went to local stores here with my wife so she could shop. We ended up in Greensboro for lunch close to noon and got a 4 pk from Bestway and with a tw around the corner found a 4 pk squirreled away for me by the store manager, and my wife also bought 2 bottles which was their allotment. So 10 bottles in total, no lines no wait, but allocations I bet were kinda light like last year. We don't get much, and there's some coffee being held very minimal I'm guessing it will be 1 bottle only first come. Piedmont Ale House has it on tap and I promptly got smashed drinking two glasses on an empty stomach.

Black Friday - Bourbon County 2014

I stood in line for about an hour in upper 30's temps, with my buddy who introduced me to craft beer a few years ago (with an 18 month old Chocolate Yeti Stout) to get the pre-determined allocation of 8 BCBS, 2 Coffee and 2 Barleywine. Scored the 12 bottle allocation from Tipples (Thanks Cale!), along with a t-shirt and bottle opener. Went home, thinking that would have to hold me until next year. Received a call from another friend who told me of another store that had plenty of inventory with no lines and no limits. Jumped in my truck and headed there, along with 4 other stores, finding BC at 3 of them. Final tally for my Black Friday shopping (see profile pic):

    BCBS - 38 bottles
    Barleywine - 27 bottles
    Coffee - 3 bottles
    Goose Island T-Shirt
    Goose Island Bottle Opener

After dinner last night, had a mini beer tasting, starting off with a 3-year old Dogfish 120 (amazing!!!), then contrasted the 2013 BCBS with the newly acquired 2014. Wow! What a treat! If anyone else has done this, I think you will agree that holding it for a year turns a fantastic beer into an absolutely amazing experience. Patience pays! Give it a year - you will never regret it!

    Cheers!

Went to a little place after work and tried to pick up a 4 pack of the barleywine, they had a couple 4 packs left so I was happy. What I actually got was 2 bw and 2 bcbs in a barleywine 4 pack, which I didn't notice until I got home, so that was kind of a bummer, but not much to be done about it now.
