    Shop local. :wink: Plenty of regional breweries making beers that are equal to or better than BCBS!

    Went to my two primary stores and they had BCBS waiting for me a case plus a 4pk, could of had a couple more 4pks but passed. None of the variants arrived in this part of the state. I also got two 4pks of Backwoods Bastard, some Blackout Stout and a bottle of Leghorn.

    Went to my 3 primary stores, 1 isn't getting any til next week, they other 2 have BCBS and BW only. In 1 store I saw 2 cases of reg. and 1 of BW on the back room floor. All are accounted for and on VIP waiting lists at each place, so none available for Black Friday walk in request/purchases. One guy said the request list starts around September each year so I need to talk with him at that time to get high on the pecking order.

    Honestly, I can live without regular. Had several times and just find it ok. Coffee I had. Now that is one of my top 5 beers on the planet. Can't find any this year yet though, but would overpay some to get a couple of those. BW seems somewhat easy to come by so I should be able to sample that sometime soon.

    Another disappointing story from Ohio. Spent 4 hours in the early morning driving around Northern Kentucky trying to find a bottle or two. No luck. Did pick up some local liquid love - 4 bottles of Coconut Chickow and 4 bottles of Cinnamon Roll Chickow from Listermann's

    I dont mean to brag, but even tho I kinda am;
    I was originally planning to go to Ramirez liquor at 2am thinking heck yea I am going to be one of the first in line but nope. My buddy was their at 12am and said their was already 80 people in line so didnt even try to go. Woke up early, called a local beer spot at 7.30am they said they will be opening at 8 and will be having Bourbon County. Ran my happy butt over arrived at 750am no lines I walked in at 8am guy was like "uh no limit on the Black case, 1 on the purple, and 1 on the red for some reason we got less of it" (obviously this couldve been someone new or just didnt care). Picked up 3 Brand Stout and 1 coffee. They didnt get any vanilla but I was ok with that. In addition a black friday sale went live at 9 and every so often new bottles went up and luckily grabbed a Canitllon Fou Foune.

    Got in line a little after 11 for a noon release. They had 7 bottles of vanilla and I was the 8th person in line, needless to say I didn't get one. One bottle limit of coffee, barleywine, and vanilla - total 4 bottle limit. I ended up getting 2 regular BCBS, one barleywine, and THE LAST COFFEE. I came for the coffee so it felt good to get the last bottle of that. Oh yeah, the singles were all 9$ a piece.

    Stopped at another store on my way home to pick up one more BCBS single for $10, also picked up a 4 pack of DFH Olde School barleywine, and a couple singles each of brown shugga' and short's juicy tree.

    I did manage to reserve one bottle of barleywine at a store about an hour away (again for $9/single) and today I reserved a bottle of oddside morningwood stout from the same place. I'll be heading up on monday to pick them up. :rolling_eyes:

    Showed up at Top Hops in NY at 12:00 for the sampling. Variant bottles all sold out, which I figured, but I did get to taste 5oz samples of the variants and I did get a 4 pack of BCBS. Pretty great considering NJ gets close to no Bourbon County.

    For those who hoarded, thats a bummer. If you are new to craft beer culture, know that people try to focus on sharing. That's the spirit of craft beer. And for those that are shaming the hoarders and refusing to buy any Bourbon County because of the "bad apples," remember that the majority of people out there are excited and willing to share. Everyone I ran into in NY was awesome and excited to try good beer.

    I can't fathom people get multiple 4 packs or even one of the variants or even a case+ of the stout. I was lucky to get 1 vanilla rye, but I did wait in line for it this morning. I was only able to get a mixed 4 pack with no coffee at another store. No option of bring able to buy more than one 'item' per store even. Crazy

    I did something similar, but my purchase was non-rare, easily acquired beers. I am now the proud owner of a case of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, a 4-pack of Delirium Noel and a set of 3 beers with a glass from Ommegang. These were purchased at the local supermarket along with the weekly groceries. I guess I failed some sort of beer acquisition test? To be fair, one of the Ommegangs is a speciatly beer, but hardly rare.

    between me, my wife and a buddy I procured 21 bottles of BCBS but only one of Barleywine. I did get a 4 pak of 2013 Barleywine but really want to trade for some 2014 BW.

    I went to a local store I have been to a few times - I asked the clerk who knows me if they got the variants for sale. She said "yeah, just a minute" - she asked the owner, who has a rep for being a jerk, "can I sell him the other stuff? He's a regular." Guy goes "yeah right, I'm taking it all home." His tone was really crappy, and the clerk looked really embarrassed. Looks like that's the last beer I ever buy there...

    I needed up scoring a vanilla at my excellent regular local store though, so it was ok. Would love to try the coffee and barley wine too, but I can't be greedy, I'm happy!

    Stuff used sit on the shelf in SW Missouri & I could buy it easily. Now those stores get a case for BCBS to divvy up for all customers. I don't even sweat getting or not getting this beer any more, too many other good/great beers out there...

    I had to work. Ducked into Wegmans to grab lunch from the hot bar and my buddy from the beer section flagged me down to tell me he had a 4 pack of the BW set aside for me. I honestly hadn't expected them to get any. Guess it pays to spend the small fortune I do year round there! I'll keep 2 and gift the other 2 to my brother for Christmas.

    lol I was in Philly from Ohio for the holiday and snagged 2 bottles of the regular. All it cost me was some QT time in a beer line for 10 minutes with my mom (I was the only one who brought their mom to by a beer for them, 1 bottle limit and all) and then the following HOUR in the shoe store with her, you know, because she said I owed her.
