I love the Sucks 32oz Bomber. When found fresh, it's as good as any DIPA. Are there any other great beers in this size? I love not getting those short second pours.

I love Sucks, but 32oz bomber format is more than I can have in 1 sitting most nights. I'm guessing that's why its not flying off the shelves, even at the 7.99 price tag which is beyond great.

Lagunitas uses that 32 oz size bottle rather than a bomber so that they'll stand out from the competition. So far they are the only ones I've seen using it. Most who want to sell you big bottles use a bomber (22 oz) or a 750ml size bottle. (Unless of course you're in the market for a 40. )

Back in the day, we called them Q's.

Lot of breweries use half growlers, which are that size.

Every time I pick up a Sucks, I feel dirty....

...flash-backs to 40's of Steel Reserve and Private Stock back in high school, I guess.

Still waiting to try the Sucks, though, just haven't pulled the trigger on it yet.

I love it. Sucks is one of the only beers I'd want to buy in that size. Its the perfect amount for me when I'm feeling responsible

I don't know any other beer which is bottled in a 32 ounce bottle. The closest I can think of are those one liter (33.8 ounce) resealable bottles from Howe Sound, which are resemblant to one liter growlers.

That said, I don't see the purpose of a non-resealable bottle of that size, especially when it's nearly 50% higher in price per ounce than its six-pack equivalent.

I think it's less to stand out from the competition and more so to not cannibalize their own recipes. They already had a year round DIPA in sixers (Maximus), and a year round DIPA in bombers (Hop Stoopid), and if Sucks was to go year round in either of those formats it would kill the beer it competed with. 32 oz bottles makes perfect sense then from a business perspective, have the (mostly agreed upon) better beer in the biggest format, give people a reason to still pick up Maximus and Hop Stoopid if they want smaller serving sizes.

Nobody on here will know this brewery but they distribute 32 oz. bombers for $7.99. Not sure about their other beers but the coffee porter is excellent. Great price considering most bombers are 22 ounces and may cost as much or more.

Sucks is a great beer. I see no problem with the quart format.

why would you pick up a quart of sucks and not drink it within a few days? its not a cellar beer. dont be a *****. its 32oz, thats less than 3 "normal" size beers. drink it, its good for you.

I hate to be that guy, but I could just as easily buy three singles of Sucks, if they were available, for less than the Quart going rate ($6.99). Great beer, but are we not going to see it in 6-packs any longer?

The 32oz format is all year, while the six packs are seasonal.

not to mention i fill my half growlers on the reg, they are 32oz. and when a DIPA or BA stout is on i get it filled and sometimes will kill them myself. if you are lucky enough to see a quart of sucks on the shelf buy one and sip it with a friend or drink it yourself, its worth it every time. but by all means dont sit on it.

Edit: to OP, a lot of new breweries in TX are taking to 750s which are nice as well. see; lone pint - yellow rose, jester king - wytchmaker, 5 stones - aloha pina.

Other than growlers the only 32 oz bottles i seen at bottle shops are Saranac Pumpkin and Mississippi Mud. I wouldn't call them great beers though.

No, those are 24 oz., slightly bigger than standard bombers. I love that size just because the rounder number ( 2 x the standard 12) appeals to the nerd in me.
