MGD. I know it rates horrible on BA, but out of the AAL swill I've drank, I think it's the easiest to choke down.

Hamm's, this beer is great to wash down jambalaya, hot wings or any other spicy bar food when on a budget. Very little hop profile, fizzy, yellow and inoffensive. I can only find it in 30 packs but it's one of the cheapest beers you will find and gets the job done on a basic level.

I like PBR. It's cheap, it drinks light, it has taste. Did I say how cheap it is?

AAL are the beers I buy the most in the largest quantity. What I have bought in the past 5 months.

    Old mil
    Highlife
Yuengling premium. Yuengling makes an aal and its the one I buy the most
    PRB
    Genny cream
    Third Shift
    Scdmit
    Hamms
    Old german.

I like Coors Extra Gold the best, but that's my cheap camping beer and it has sentiment. PBR, Hamms, and Old Milwaukee are ample substitutes.

That still leaves it foot and knees below the craft lagers.

I find PBR still tastes as offensive now as it did in the 80s when it was the cheapest bar option in college. It's hipster resurgence is baffling to me. The fact that it nearly disappeared must have had something to do with it.

I have to say a Miller Lite is my only remaining foray into the AAL. Decent.

i drank a ton of these this year when i was bored of big beer for a while. Some new ones I never tried and liked were Hamm's, Schmidt, and American Light.

I didn't like the sweet ones like Nargansett and Iron City.

Some others i have my eye on for next time I crave an AAL: Old Boxer, Pennsylvania Style.

In the past my family would have things around like Pabst, Busch, Michelob Light, Stroh's and I still like these.

But I mainly dig on the more regional offerings. As others have noted, Straub makes an exceptionally good product.

Victory has a really nice pre prohibition lager if you want to talk craft. I kind of wish they'd bottle it and sell it locally or something.

Well, almost anything except Bud or Bud Light. Used to drink a lot of Busch Long necks. A good beach beer when ice cold. Most bars are jumping on the craft beer train so there are some reasonable choices here in South Florida.

Just recently had some Hamms, it's definitely in the top 3 for AAL imo.

I want to say either Schell's Deer Brand or New Glarus' Totally Naked, I don't think those kind of beers are what the OP had in mind.
