Does anyone have stories of great unexpected beer that guests have brought this weekend?
We had 25 relatives over on Thanksgiving and with no provocation my wife's nephew walked in with expected appetizers and an unexpected case of Heady!
This was particularity great because my son drove within 10-miles of Hill Farmstead the day before and we had agreed he would do a 2-growler pickup, however the storm in the Northeast forced him to leave too early (before they were open) so the beer side-trip was side-lined.
You know what I was thankful for.

Actually, yes. My son came over with Founder's Breakfast Stout. We recently got Founder's in my state, but I didn't think we got FBS. Talk about a surprise.

Man I wish I had relatives that would show up with some "surprise" beer, that was worth drinking!

Great idea for a thread though!

My brother is working up at the Mayo Clinic and stopped at a place in WI and picked up Toppling Goliath bombers-pseudo, light speed and golden nugget.

My gfs parents are wine drinkers and we traveled out of state to visit. We didn't want to check bags in to save the hassle so we couldn't take any beers. Her parents surprised us with red rock, moab, and epic beers. All local utah brews. No whalez or anything but I was pleasantly surprised and it was a nice gesture.

Good topic. My cousin showed up with a 4pk of Evl Twin Lil' B, Quite surprised! He knows I'm into beer so I think he's making it his mission to find stuff I haven't had before when we get together for the holidays. Well done for sure.

Kind of. Years ago I stumbled into a tradition of meeting a group of people on top of a mountain every black Friday for a beer tasting. I knew there would be good beer as always, but the quality this year was astounding. It sure made the snowy descent entertaining though.

Konig ludwig Weiss beer when I visited the in-laws in Georgia, but also found The Bruery's bourbon barrel aged Smoking Wood at a craft beer store nearby! - Ace Growlers in Newnan, GA. That was the highlight beer of the trip
