MN Craft Beer Week

Agreed. Usually by this time I've got my week planned out. With the two separate craft beer weeks this year, and so close together, I'm worried that many places have already fired their biggest guns. I did see Stub n Herbs tweet that they will have all four Steel Toe regulars on tap as part of some event--I'm guessing some sort of MN tap takeover.

 

I was trying to help with the website, but sadly it was a bit more than I could do. I would check the facebook and twitter, I would guess stuff will be announced there.

 

I can only speak for the Blue Plate Family of Restaurants but this is what we are doing next week:
Longfellow Grill will be doing a Harriet Brewing tap takeover on Monday 6/18 at 5pm
Edina Grill all taps will be MN beers starting this week and going forward.
The Lowry all MN craft beers on tap will be discounted
Three Squares Restaurant Brau Brothers tap takeover on Monday 6/18
Groveland Tap Monday 6/18 Goose Island Tap Take over with Pere Jacques Sour '09, Nightstalker '09, Bourbon County '08 and 312 from '12. And a cask of Summit Saga on Friday.

 

Crazy that 3 days from now an '08 BCBS is being tapped and this is the first I've heard of it...

 

Since the website and mnbeer.com don't have events posted, let's do it here in the meantime. I know Happy Gnome is doing a hefeweizen takeover on Wednesday.

Stubs specials for the week:
Monday and Tuesday - $3 Summit Taps
Wednesday - All Steel Toe Taps $3 on Size 7, Provider, Sommervice and half price pitchers from 8-10pm
Thursday - $3 pints of Liftbridge and Chestnut Hill Kill the Keg $7 all you can drink from 8 til both kegs are gone
Friday - Sunday - $3 Surly Taps Furious, Bender, Cynic, Hell, Schadenfreude, and Bitter Brewer

Hell yeah. The BCS was insanely good. I could have stayed there until they had to pick me up off the floor. Fortunately (or not) I have to work tomorrow.

Also a very quiet crowd, not much of a turnout. If you missed it tonight, call tomorrow, I'm sure it'll still be on.

 

I had a couple glasses of bcbs, it was phenomenal!

 

I was also there for a couple glasses, first time having BCBS very happy I made the trip over.

 

Every sip was a Revolution...I saw John Lennon Seriously, so many flavors that I ran out of taste buds.

 

Nothing to report here in Roch for MN craft beer week...in case anyone is curious

 

Without much information on what is going on around town it almost feels like this years Minnesota Craft Beer Week is kind of a joke. I was really looking forward to it as it was a blast last year. However, even though the motivation is there to go hit up events around town, if I don't know where the events are I can't make it to them. I can't be the only one who feels this way...can I?

 

I am with you Karl. I feel like there is a lot of second hand promotion going on. I know there were some logistical issues in getting up a website for it which there is no one to blame for but I think we all would have hoped for better. This is motivation for all of us who feel that "disappointment" to get more involved for next year. That is my take away anyways. Facebook pages are great, Twitter is great, but not everyone uses those mediums. Who is technically in charge of putting these events on? Is it that a week is defined and then bars, breweries decide to market as they see fit?
