Don't you just hate this shit? You take the time out of your day to line up a trade, cancel all other trade talks with people you've been having a discussion with, only to have the other side dip out last minute because, "My wife isn't letting me trade any more fou, this is closed." Gotta love it.

That's a bullshit excuse. So and so isn't letting me trade...yeah right.

"My wife won't let me trade anymore" is code for "fuck you, I got a better offer."

And also an incredibly lame excuse.

I hate it just as bad as the... "Hey I have had a bad experience, I'm going to talk vaguely about it but not out anyone" post.

Shit or get off the pot, srs.

Then he's trading with beers that aren't technically his to trade which makes him a bad trader.

Until you exchange addresses and accept a trade request, either party can call off a trade discussion for any reason.

If people backing out of a trade, even with a lousy excuse, get called out each time, this forum would be flooded with bickering. I've had it happen and the guy didn't even bother with giving an excuse. I moved on and ignore all his ISO. I can see it can be frustrating if it happens more than once to the same person, which likely is the case for the rant.

I hate bad trader as anyone here, believe me, but this is a very hard sell for a "bad trader" case. It's frustrating, but unless there's clear evident of accepting better offers after trade request was accepted, it's better to move on.

So why does the OP make a thread about it? That is my question.

I do not care if people let others walk all over them, I just want to know what the point of the post is.

Rant = frustration. Sometimes it's good to let it out since there's no recourse to be had.

If you are not out any beer there is no reason to post a thread about it. Sure, it's annoying but did you lose anything? Besides some time that you would have spent on BA anyway.

I think in order to post an ISO you have to open yourself to feedback. There are so many where people post for their wants and it begins to become an auction where the best offer wins. I wish the OPs would make a rule you have to have a specific offer or it gets removed. That would close the door on any auction posts. Thoughts OPs?

I'm not gonna out someone because of something relatively minor. If he stole beer, sure. I know that people back out of trades all the time. I just found his excuse in particular pretty funny. It was just a rant; take it for what it is.

When he says "Lets do this", I consider that an agreement. It's not as if we were discussing it and he said I'll think about it. This would have been an IP trade.

Man this sub-forum is called "Beer trading talk and help". Stop policing the forums.

Hmm, didn't realize expressing an opinion in a forum is policing. If everyone posted a thread about someone who backed out of a trade before beer was shipped then this sub forum would be plagued with it. It's undeserved. So something didn't go the way you wanted? Move on. Does it suck sure, but there isn't a need for it. Until you pack and ship beer a trade can be recalled. Something you are going to have to accept.

I do agree that trades can be called off but once addresses are exchanged (or under the new system once a trade is accepted) it is considered extremely poor form to call off a trade and could possibly warrant a trade with caution thread.

I would definitely agree that if you accept the trade request then there are few circumstances that you could warrant a recant on your trade. Exchange of address definitely solidifies a trade as agreed upon (if both persons list their addresses) but if someone backs out after that i would be aggravated but i wouldn't call them out. I don't endorse this type of activity but it has happened to me and it sucked but nothing was lost so really no harm was done to me except my hopes getting up ya know?

I hear you and likely I would not post a thread outing them unless they explicitly said they were backing out of the trade for a better offer. However they would definitely get an earful from me via PM at the very least and I would not engage with that user again (unless there are extenuating circumstances for them backing out).
