Belgian beers and Belgian style beers are really growing on me. Here are a list of my favourites so far. I'd love to hear any additions (hopefully available in Canada!). Avery The Reverend (not available in Canada but I had so while in the US) Ommegang Three Philosophers Unibroue La Fin du Monde Unibroue Maudite Unibroue Trois Pistoles Duvel St. Bernard's Abt 12 La Trappe Quadrupel
Anything Ommegang, anything Unibroue, anything Allagash, anything St. Bernardus, anything Lost Abbey, anything Rochefort, any of Boulevard's Belgian stuff, Tripel Karmeliet, Orval (much different than everything else here), anything Westmalle, and many De Struise. If you're into or looking to get into sours/wilds/lambics, look to Cantillon, Drie Fonteinen, Beersel, Tilquin, Rodenbach, Petrus, Boon, Lindemans Cuvée Réne Gueuze, and De Cam. If you're looking to get into saisons, DuPont and Fantôme.
Couldn't have said it better myself. St. Bernardus Christmas is my favorite winter seasonal/holiday beer and is pretty readily available. Aside from what OP and said above, I love North Coast's Belgians - La Merle and Brother Theolonius are both great examples of the styles. Don't know if you can get them up in Canada. Cheers! [Edited] To add Brooklyn Brewery's Sorachi Ace - a dry hopped saison. In my top 3 beers purely because of its pure perfection with lots of foods. It's the actual champagne of beers. Probably, most likely available for you! Happy Hunting!
I had Brooklyn Brewery's Sorachi Ace this summer on tap in a growler. It blew me away. I loved it. Very unique. Has a bubblegum note to it but not in a bad way :-).
I had Funkworks Saison and loved it! I've only tried the two sours put out by New Belgium. It made me realize I need to explore sours.
