I have plans 2 hours away later that night so I can't go to the party all day like you are able to. Why do you have to respond to every post in just about every forum? Just worry about yourself.

Nothing wrong with a little fun, though, right? I don't think he meant any harm.

Processing hundreds of orders at a beer event never goes quickly. I suggest hanging out and drinking the amazing beers they will have on tap.

Just to clarify, I have never been to this event but I'm making the assumption that it's like most other beer events in regards to processing hundreds of orders of beer.

The guy is the most annoying person on this site, he trolls every Great Lakes/Michigan thread with stupid comments to bump up his BA points I guess? I am just trying to get some questions answered and he is talking about nonsense.

I didn't go to 4Elf last year, but from my experiences there the previous two years, if you're around #400 in line, cancel your plans for that night, make friends with someone at the party who's willing to run you beers in line, and enjoy the party/wait.

Thanks for some helpful feedback, I figured this was the case and I wish I could hangout in Marshall all day and night, but wife would not be too happy about me missing her Christmas party.

My post was a 100% joke. Sorry I hurt your feelings. I'm a smartass by nature, and I guess I should consider that some people can't handle it.

Based on last year this is probably true. I think we were around 300-ish in line and got our bottles at 3pm.

I was 303 and want to say I rolled back to the party at 3:30 and ran into somebody with a higher number who had just picked theirs up.

That's possible, I just remember somewhere around there getting the bottles and beginning the insane drive through the snow. Details are fuzzy after drinking all night and not sleeping.

So, Coming from Europe for the party. If bottles are available. Awesome. Besides dressing warm for the weather and not being a douchebag. Any other tips people could suggest for this event/party? Our hotel is 1.2miles away, would it be a safe walk from Darkhorse towards the freeway? Other then that, I might have some Cantillon with me if anyone is interested in sharing or trading

Bring a taster glass and some water to drink and rinse your glass with in line. Wear layers so you can peel some off once you get inside if you need to. Pace yourself, especially if you plan on staying at the party for awhile. It's a long day! Go somewhere to eat a big breakfast (Denny's in Marshall) after you hand your order form in, before the party starts.

I guess it'd be possible to walk to DH from your hotel but it'd be a long, cold, drunken walk back at the end of the night with all of your bottles. I'd plan to have a ride somehow. And I'm always down to share some bottles in line. Love me some Loons!

If you're staying at the Comfort Inn that's a pretty easy walk on a road with little traffic. Last year that road was damn near impassible with all of the snow. You shouldn't have an issue with pulling up, picking up bottles, take to hotel, and driving back for the party portion.

If you are bringing Cantillon to trade I would post something in the IP trade forum. I'm sure there are lots of people who would love to trade with you.

Well, the wife and I are very use to walking 2km or about 1.3 miles to and from the train station everyday and that seams to be the distance to and from Darkhorse. I probably wont be there until 11am or so. We refuse to wait in line that early. I know chances are that the BBpt5 will be sold out by then. Not to worried about that. But what about sharing bottles during the day? Is it only allowed in the line?

If any of you fine folks from the Metro Detroit area won't be maxing out, please let me know! I'd be happy to compensate you with gas money and some brews from my cellar!

Unfortunately, won't be able to make it this year. Planning on heading to the HopCat opening in Detroit. 4 Elf was great times last year with some great people. Cheers!

its hard to say if Plead will be gone by then with so much more being available this year but if it is out im sure someone will sell/trade/give you some of theirs. in regards to sharing during the day im not sure. i honestly would suggest getting there for some of the early morning bottle share and have your order form handed in. then go to breakfast and cruise back over to the party and beer pick up.

In years past, the bottle sharing is typically the night/morning in line (prior to the order forms). While it's not out of the question to bottle share durning the day, after sharing all night/morning, most people generally take a break for a little bit to sober up. Also, Dark Horse usually has some awesome stuff on tap for the party once that opens up.

    However, anything's possible.

If there's something in particular you're looking to try, drop a line as I'm sure myself or another fellow BA would be happy to throw you a bottle if available.

    Cheers

Yep. Ticket 297, pickup time at 3 PM. I got back to the party between 1 and 2 PM. LOTS of food coming out regularly around that time, plus it wasn't too crowded yet. Even with the larger amount of beer, I think a 4 AM arrival still makes a lot of sense, unless the weather is a lot worse than last year.

Good to hear, that means they actually worked through orders quicker than they said on the event page. See everyone there in line!

Thank you for the information guys. If I have bottles to trade. I will post here on December 10th. Not sure if I can convince the wife of such an early morning... but we will be there.
