I did everything in my power to get the package from FedEx. The status hasn't changed since 11.22 and they've told me twice now that me getting it isn't going to happen. The two messages I'd sent late last month stated this as well.

It's all good though. I'll keep my eyes peeled.

...and once again, even here after not being on BA for a week... it's amazing how quickly people respond once their reputation is at stake and they're called out in one of these threads... this just seems to happen time and time again... :::SIGH:::

Looks like this is headed in the right direction at least OP, make sure you let everyone here know once you get your box.

This is another great example of the fact that communication in trading is absolutely key. It doesn't take long to log onto BA and type a couple sentences to keep your trading partner informed. Often, that makes all the difference and would keep a lot of these threads from being created.

say what you want, but why in the F would i troll this site waiting for a thread to pop up and then take action? that makes no fing sense. look at how many trades i've completed and for how long i've been trading, which is maybe a few months since i joined, and my original account got lost in the server swap so ive been a member since 2008 actually.

what makes more sense than your "this dude is only taking action b/c he got called out in a thread" is that what I said actually happened. really, what possible incentive could i have in blowing off a trade, for less than $35 worth of beer none the less?

i swear some of you BA dudes know it all. thanks detective sherlock for your keen skills of observation.

No need to apologize to me; I'm just pointing that out so that inexperienced traders can take note. It seems like you're taking action to resolve the issue, so kudos to you. Cheers!

It seems to me that the OP and @tsauce2 did not exchange phone numbers. Otherwise, OP could've texted/called and reminded him. ALWAYS get the phone number!!! It's needed for FedEx/UPS label generating in case they need to call the recipient about the box, etc. AND it's the best way to reach out. Glad the situation is resolved though.

If I'm wrong and this is coincidence I can accept that, then I'm wrong. I'm just saying that this type of thing happens all the time... and it's odd that you responded with hours of having your name tagged in this thread after not being on the site for a week and not responding to the OPs messages when you did logon prior to that... that's all. Nothing against you personally and it sounds like you're going to make everything right here so kudos to you. All should be well in the end.

Looks bad, i know, but it is coincidence indeed. FedEx found what was inside, so i am going to have to ship by other carrier. Anyone have experience with this? I shipped off my FedEx account, so I fear it may be tagged/monitored for a while. Just wondering if i need to not use my account for a while or what.

Print a new label, ship it FedEx again, seriously. No flagging system as far as anyone can tell. No one is going to remember your box. But if it makes you feel better, use UPS for this one time.

Totally agree here. I had a similar thing happen before and went right back and shipped with my FedEx acct again. No problems at all

So setting up shipment through my acct is cool? Obviously you save on shipping costs through your acct, but I don't want to get it suspended or anything.

And sorry if i came off strong earlier. I take my rep on this site seriously, and i felt like i was on the defensive, justifiably so, but i wanted to make known that what i said was legit and i am working to make my trade right. This was other guys' first trade, so i hate that its gone like it has especially since i have had so many good trades and i know there are many great traders out there i don't want him to get discouraged. thanks all for input and replies.

We had extensive discussions on this once in a while and no one could ever prove or even superficially shows that their account was ever "flagged". My take has always been that it would be such a costly system to implement, too much hassle for FedEx/UPS with potential false positives because of name similarities, people moving in and out of an address, etc....and they have no legal obligations to do it. Best they've done to cover their asses was sending letters to people informing them that they can't ship alcohol without a license.

Just curious, but do you get emails alerting you that you have new messages on BA? I do. Not flaming at all. Just saying that even if I don't log on, I still get an email alert and that's how I know I have messages most of the time.

I know I'm resurrecting a somewhat old thread here and I'm even off topic no less...but I just wanted to mention that I did, indeed, have my UPS address/phone number (not account) "flagged" a few years ago.

It was before I had any sort of account setup and was using UPS only because it was right up the road from where I worked. So I shipped a box and it broke in transit...I got a phone call about it...I more or less played dumb, apologized. Then went to ship another box a week later and when they entered my info into the system, the two dudes behind the counter conferred with each other and then told me that since their records show I tried to ship alcohol in the past, they would have to open and inspect the package before they allowed me to ship anything. I'm not sure if this is common or even the exact details of what triggered it - address? phone number? Or if perhaps the "flag" has since been removed?? But I took my box, left and have been using my fedex account ever since without any issues.

Man, that's the first I've heard of it. I'm wondering if it was a matter of the 2 guys recognizing you rather than anything that was in the system or they played it up as such anyway. I'd like to hear from someone from UPS/FedEx to confirm such a system exists or existed. Thanks for sharing your experience!

I won't elaborate on why, but I would put money on it that the guy who was entering my info into the system did NOT recognize me. Plus, even though the box shipped from that location, it broke elsewhere and was returned to me via a different hub...so the only way that note or "flag" would have gotten into their system is if someone from outside the store entered it.
