Is there any DIPAS you can get in MN you guys have found that rivals abrasive? I love abrasive! Just dislike its price and availability.

Buddies and I even blind tasted it against heady and Pliny and we all gave abrasive the highest marks.

Simply put, no - especially not any cheaper. Also, Abrasive and Pliny represent the opposite ends of the good IIPA spectrum if you ask me - dry and clean vs big and chewy.

If you made me choose an Abrasive substitute available everywhere right now, maybe Myrcenary comes to mind? I'm also anxious to hear about the new Steel Toe Sticker Fight.

 

Sticker Fight is really solid, had a pint and grabbed a few bottles yesterday. Would definitely become a go to local DIPA of it was around regularly.

My group did a blind tasting last year and came to the same conclusion: Abrasive then Pliny then Heady... then 3 more that aren't worth comment. Fairness in conversation: Abrasive was very fresh at the time of that comparison.

 

Abrasive is not going to come from the new brewery, they will brew it in Brooklyn Park. It will however come after the new brewery opens. Considering they just sent out an invite to a dinner at the new brewery, Ill assume we may have an abrasive new year at this pace.

 

Drinking a bottle now, it is really good. This will more than tie me over until Abrasive comes out. Hope it makes it to a regular or at least long running seasonal.

 

Sounds I should seek out some sticker fight. Ive been grabbing a lot of the fresh harvest from sierra nevada and ive been fairly impressed. And of course the latest batch of stone enjoy by that just came out.

 

Have to agree about the Sticker Fight. Could be the recency effect but I actually prefer it to Abrasive and Pliny. Of course, we're splitting hairs here. All three are awesome. If you want some you better hurry up and get to the tap room. Bartender said they only made 1000 bottles and he thought they would be gone by tonight.
