Some of my regular purchases, all around $8 or so:
Deschutes Inversion or Mirror Pond, Scuttlebutt's Gale Force or Hoptopia, Widmer's Upheaval IPA, Bridgeport's IPA or Hop Czar, New Belgium has a few, among others that currently slip my mind!
Lagunitas and Stone are usually closer to $10 a sixer around the Seattle area.

You know I find myself buying the Trader Joe's Stockyard Oatmeal Stout frequently for $6.99. To me a good bang for the buck. cheers

There's no such thing as a non-AAL sixer below $9 here, sooo...

In NM can't beat Santa Fe Brewings Seasonal releases and of course Imperial Java stout at $6.50 a sixer at Sams club.

Central Waters Satin Solitude - $8.99/6. A very good stout for the money. Actually, forget about the money, it's still a solid stout.

    Good choices!

Some of the go-to's in my area include:

    Deschutes Inversion
    New Belgium Ranger
    Kona Fire Rock
    Firestone Pale 31 or Pivo

All of which are usually around the 7.99 mark

My go to six pack is either Firestone Walker (as cheap as $6.99 DBA and Pale 31) and Sierra Nevada almost everything especially Torpedo which I can get as low as $7.99

I think the math checks out, but one of my cost-effective favorites is Old Forge's T-Rail Pale Ale, weighing in at $9.99 for a six-pack of 16oz cans. Read that last bit again.

If you wanna do the math, that's like a $7.49 six-pack of 12 oz cans.

I have NEVER seen a sixer of Java Stout for less than $14, that's a steal!

Nice avatar pic, make sure you skip a few beers one week and donate the money to the restoration:wink:. She will breath again soon. http://fireup611.org/

And to answer the original question, when I need to mind my wallet, Sierra Nevada and Lagunitas are usually in this price range. To be honest, I'd rather have the $8-$9 4pk of Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout.

The $8 6-pack is becoming more and more uncommon. I'm not sure if craft beer prices are escalating, but most 6 packs are in the $12-13 range.

With the exception of Sam Adams, every one of those is >$9 for huge chunks of the US population.
