I have been exclusively using the Fed-Ex one-rate shipping for all of my beer shipments of late and just came across this coupon:

It's the best job ever, they've been paying me to drink beer for the last ten months just to drop this bomb on you!!

That's where all the "lost or damaged" packages have been going

Their XL box is not big enough for sending an average trade box. Do they have XXXL?

Side note, does Fedex "discard" damaged packages? I one time received a box from them and they repackaged the broken bottle and delivered it. I was surprised at how cool they were about it.

On the other hand, I'm generally a UPS shipper, just because of local convenience, and they definitely will "discard" an entire box if even one bottle leaks.

You got lucky, but that isn't exactly rare.

This is better addressed in one of the many lost or damaged box threads, but I've heard of all sorts of responses across the spectrum from threatening legal action & discarding, to repacking an entire box and sending it on, from all three main shippers (Fedex, UPS, USPS).

Probably just depends on which worker gets your box.
And always put a second label inside the box!
