Yes, Another Possible Bad Trader

If he's a pretty active member that's hard to gauge. It would seem those guys would know better than to risk their reputation that way but who knows? I would definitely ask for more details on these life events. At this point I'd wait to label as a bad trader. Maybe money is the issue and he's waiting to get everything in order. In that case posting ratings isn't all that bad. It's free if he has them written down like a lot of BA's do. Still though, you are owed some communication and if that doesn't start to happen you can think more about outing the guy.

Personally, I'd wait a little longer and tell him you're thinking about outing him if he doesn't at least communicate.

 

So it has been a good week and a half since the date he promised to ship and he couldn't respond and let you know what happened. Plus it has been 3 weeks since you send your side. You would be justified in outing him. I would send an ultimatum on both sites. I'd let him know he needs to have a box out by the end of the week or be outed as a bad trader.

 

Yeah that sucks. Again, If you outed him right now you would be totally justified. He is clearly logging in but not communicating.

If you decide on an ultimatum I would state that if you hit the 1 month mark without a package IN HAND, he's getting outed.

 

Is it possible he agreed to trade a beer he didn't actually possess yet and happened to fail to get it? Were they limited beers or fairly easy to get ones?

 

Hmm... well re reading everything I feel like I'd still give him a little time. I'm a pretty patient person in general though. Does he have good references here?

 

I agree with patience, but at the same time vigilance protects the community as a whole. I'm sure he'd feel bad if someone else got burned and maybe he could have prevented it.

I still say a firm ultimatum is in order with a firm deadline, no BS. If he kept the OP updated throughout then maybe a bit more patience might be in order (within reason of course).

 

Well then you've pretty much outed him out; hopefully he will see this and respond.

I'd give him a set date to send the box and if he can't meet it then out him. Three weeks since you sent your side seems a bit a of stretch not to get anything back.

I traded with him and had a less than stellar experience (communication, shipping time frame, content of box) but I did eventually get a box. I sent you a BM with the details.

Ok that's two people with issues...it's outting time. Save other people from going through this.

 

I'm not sure if people are doing this on purpose, but I like the way people are outing troublesome trading partners (start a thread, have the name in their profile as 'in progress', allow someone else to post the name).
