Christmas Bomb is a shelf turd here in Denver...i wouldn't worry about bottle count, there are, well, easily hundreds to maybe even thousands of bottles of it available here... and not many people are buying it... I like it, I've bought a few bottles, but the price point still sucks at $9 a bottle for a non-BA beer....

I'm not a huge fan of regular bomb.... how different is this... those who have tried it...

Nice nutmeg and cinnamon on the nose...very soft. To me it all melded well with Bomb flavors. Didn't really notice the mouthfeel as that doesn't really matter to me. Not like I'm tasting an expensive red wine. Thought it was a good beer and didn't mind paying $7.99.

I'll stick with the regular which is relatively easy to find, this was not as good. Expect more "rareness" from these guys. I'll probably try them from time to time, but losing patience with marketing & price strategy of these guys...

Finally had this on tap tonight. Now while I did get the pepper and coffee (man was their coffee!), I didn't really pick up much on nutmeg. Maybe a little cinnamon. For me, this was a big coffee bomb all the way. Now I do like coffee stouts, don't get me wrong, but this was like coffee in your face and everything else was very subdued in comparison. Probably least liked of all stouts I've had from them.

I'd expect less rareness. Talked to Chase at the 2nd Anniversary in response to the mostly failed release of Coolship Truck and he said he learned his lesson about limited releases and that the distributors hate it. I think most of their limited beers will be brewery only from now on.

I am already buying less Goose Island because of this. I used to get BCBS on the shelf with no drama, now they get piddly rations. If can take care of your core markets, many buyers (me) will lose their loyalty. To me it seems like Prairie could sell enough of any of their beers within the 4 state area for the mid-term...

I had a few glasses of this over at Cottonwood last week and loved it. Did not get much nutmeg but the coffee really shined. A little cinnamon was also present but not overpowering. I usually hate Christmas ales due to the overuse of spices but I loved this. Glad I found a few bottles to share with my family at Christmas dinner

They had a Prairie mini tap takeover at SL Saucer tonight. Had Balcones Brimstone Bomb for second time and Pirate Bomb for first time. They were very different from each other and both were excellent. Love the subdued barrel influence of Brimstone-Balcones Bomb. So much prefer a subtle barrel that enhances a brew instead of overpowering the base beer. Kudos to Prairie in perfecting that. So unlike GI in that regard.

Wanted a Pirate Bomb but wasn't willing to pay $20 for a bottle. BA Bomb was good but was out of this world like it was the first time I had it. When I laft at 9:30 everything was still on tap.

Had this on tap today at Whole Foods Post Oak... Bomb just isn't one of my favorite stouts... no matter which variant I have had.... this one was mostly coffee with some pepper.. I didn't get much Christmasy spice from it.

I expected more spice from this. I'm not sure I could differentiate between this and regular Bomb if blind tasting.

Same here on the spice. Very, very subtle.

I love the heavy barrel flavor that BCBS has, but also really enjoyed Brimstone Bomb! with a much more suttle barrel presence. Just depends on how the barrel and overall beer mesh.
