Bell's Eccentric Day

I had a blast. Eccentric Day is my favorite non-festival related brewery event. Great selection. I didn't repeat any beers. My favorite was probably the kalhaven.

 

It is as amazing as it sounds. However, it has a flaw. They age this stout in Traverse City Whiskey barrels. I don't know much about Traverse City whiskey but I'm guessing they don't age their whiskey as long as the major Kentucky bourbon distillers do. The whiskey notes in Cinnamon Sunrise tastes really young. CCS tastes really good but I can't help but think how good this beer would be if it was aged in a Four Roses barrel.

I have not heard anything in particular, but based on how they have been making it a point to expand the barrel program I would be surprised if we do not see some.

I did get to talk to Larry a bit on Eccentric Day, it does sound like there is some fun stuff coming down the lines.

That was the early part of the day. After 4, it was somewhat blurry.

Larry 1/2 of the day=crystal clear

Laura 1/2 of the day=little fuzzy

 

I don't remember seeing Laura, but I wasn't looking for her.

Had a double take with the "seasonal creep" in the morning. Without the facial hair it did not look like Larry.

Kevin , my friends all hoped you got home OK.

My walk back to the hotel is fuzzy. I am pretty sure I wouldnt have made it back without my phone.
