Quick Denver visit this weekend

    Im going to denver for the weekend. Its not necessarily a beercation however i will have a chance to stop by a few breweries. Id also like to bring home some bottles. Any recommendations on current local releases i could bring home to california? For sure im going to stop by crooked stave and take anything theyll let me walk out with but other than that im kinda spotty.

    The biggest release in Denver this week is Legend of the Liquid Brain at the Bull & Bush. You can buy bottles at the B&B and it should be showing up at various stores later in the week.

    I'm not sure. Previously the limit was 3 bottles per person, so that's probably a safe assumption. Today is their Xmas tasting event, so at the very least bottles will be on sale for that. It wouldn't shock me if they weren't selling bottles right when they opened, though.

    I just called them. It's available now. No bottle limit. $15.10 per bottle.

    Yup no bottle limit today only. After that it's a 3 bottle limit starting tomorrow.

    River North is releasing B Side Avarice this week I believe. They always have some solid BA offerings.

    Crooked Stave is releasing Vieille w/ Cranberries & Spice and Surette Reserva Cassis tomorrow night so there will be lots to purchase this weekend with Nightmare on Brett and Flor d'Lees still available.

    Outside B&B, I believe Liquid Brain distribution is limited to 3 stores. Maybe 2.

    They returned a private message yesterday, stating they would be distributing it in liquor stores 'around' the state (I asked because I live in FoCo).

    The B&B's CBC beers are limited to Grapevine and Mile High because they sourced the barrels, but the Brain is a normal release that should be at most places that carry their other beers. It made the rounds earlier this year. That doesn't mean it will last, but people probably don't need to scramble and go into panic mode today.

    It IS damn good. Had a fair amount last night and it's phenomenal. I think the B&B has 3-bottle limits in place now, but it'll be hitting the streets elsewhere in the next few days.
