Just managed to break my Brooklyn Brewery tulip merely by washing it by hand. Blah! Well guess I'm glad not to have large shards of glass in my hand.

Did this the other night with my Chimay chalice. Just finished washing it and as I was walking down to the basement to put it away I noticed a few drops of water left inside; tried to shake the water out and smacked it right into the railing.

I pick up a glass at Darkness Day every year. Earlier this year, I managed to knock one off a shelf. Of course it was one I had no extra of, and neither do any of my tasting buddies. 2011 glass. I now have the rest of my Darkness glasses stored in bubble wrap and peanuts in a box, since i don't have a safe place to display them.

The day after a tasting I had 6 Duval tulips with dried up sticky stout at the bottom, I left them in the sink standing up to soak and managed to knock a cast iron frying pan on to them breaking them all. Not as bad as it sounds though because I know the local sales rep for Duval and had no problems getting replacements.

I just cracked my first Jester King glass that i got a few years ago when they only had tastings. That trip was what got me really into the craft beer scene. It didnt shatter, so i still have it, but its a shame i cannot use it anymore.

Over the past couple of months, I had broken two glasses from the Libbey craft beer set - the craft pint and the porter/stout. I felt awful. Not collectable, but my girlfriend gave it to me when I started getting in to better beers. It was my first "real" set of appropriate glassware for beer, as well. It meant something to me. After looking on line, to no avail, I found that the Bed Bath & Beyond by my place will break up sets and sell the individual glasses at 2 or 3 bucks each. I was happy. Side note - my girlfriend was happy, too. She had no idea they meant that much to me after all of the other cool glassware I have acquired.
