I am caught in a vicious circle right now. I buy a bunch of Backwoods then I drink it all. Go back to the store and repeat. It's too damn good. Help BA'ers, and Cheers!!!!!

Done with finals! I should've picked a better beer to start with. Bridgeport Aussie Salute, not cutting it. Something better after that to be sure...

90 minutes to drive 30 miles home? Yeah, I needed to take the edge off. Mission: accomplished.

I love that beer too, and I agree whole heatedly with your assessment of it. So unappreciated.

    Review fun:

Awesome Black IPA. HUGE nose of super juicy citrus/tropical notes with some light-moderate chocolate/cocoa/toast/light char malt presence. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, chocolate, cocoa, toast, light char, and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Nice sizable pine and roast bitterness on the finish. Very crisp and moderately sticky mouthfeel. Nice moderate roasted malt presence in the back while still letting Citra/Simcoe take front and center on taste. Just downright delicious. Will definitely grab a full six at xmas time back in OH.

Nice and pleasant winter warmer. Taste of caramel, honey, toast, orange peel, cinnamon, nutmeg, gingerbread, clove, and herbal spice earthiness. A light spice bitterness on the finish. Really nice balance of malt, honey, and spice flavors. No cloying sweetness or spice notes. Very smooth and crisp with some slight creamy/breadiness in the mouthfeel. Very drinkable. Not as bold on flavor as I expected for the ABV, but adequate. Nicely enjoyable.

A damn good BBA Imperial Stout. Taste of milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toasted oats, toffee, coconut, vanilla, bourbon, and oak. Some light roast and oak bitterness on the finish. Really nice balance of dark/roast malts and bourbon barrel complexities. Very smooth sipping for 10% with moderate creaminess; not as thick as others @ the gravity, but no real complaints either. Really enjoyed this one, very well balanced with overall good complexity.

Found the tree skirt out in the middle of the living room this morning. I asked this one if she knew anything about it.

Tried this before the SideKick and after, just not feeling it. I'm going to donate the remainders to the housekeeping staff at this hotel.
