This is so awesome!!!! Founders just destroyed their Backstage output in 2014 with one announcement.

I've thought all of the latest Backstage Series releases were great (maybe the exception being Smoked Porter..it was OK)! Having not had the chance to try Blushing Monk, I'm really looking forward to this.

I can't really hate, because I never had it 4 years ago, but at the rates these bottles go (especially in nyc) - they should 10% ABV minimum. Bring back the Curmudgeon's Better Half or something bourbon aged!

I agree with tshutchison2005 wholeheartedly, they've all been great with the exception of the smoked porter. Though I haven't tried Big Lushious yet.

So excited to try this one for the first time.

But I must admit, my first thought when I saw it pop up in Founders' Facebook feed was that they are trolling all the people who've clamored for them to bring back Better Half or CBS or one of the other highly sought after past Backstage releases.

And this quote seems to confirm that, while I doubt they were trolling, they are certainly very aware of the clamoring:

If you're looking to get drunk, there are definitely cheaper options.

I don't think ABV should always be equated to the price of a beer. Look at low abv sours. And this is full of raspberries, which are not cheap at all. Flavoring additions and fruit are more expensive than extra malt.

Fair enough. I just don't seem to see calls for its return as much as some other on the forums. Obviously not a very scientific way of determining what's sought after on my part.
