Well last night was definitely horns down...we went to see the musical Camelot and it was a dud. Slow pace, mostly canned music, characters not in the least bit engaging. I can watch karaoke for far less cash. Oh well, can't expect every show to be outstanding.

This morning we participated in the shopping frenzy. With older kids, it is tons easier but... We told them a couple years ago we weren't doing Christmas stockings anymore and talk about two pissed off twenty-somethings! A few stores, a nice lunch, then prayers of thanks to Al Gore for cresting the interwebs. Now we can blame the postal service and UPS...Internet shopping redefines let your fingers do the walkin.

We are feeling well rewarded right now. We cracked open our last bottle of Pretty Things Grampus. Holy ten percent hoppy golden double mash malt bomb goodness, Batman! We tasted this with Mr. Paquette telling the story of how it was made and would probably never be made again. We bought two at the tasting this summer and stumbled on another one just last week. Thick, sweet, wine/grape flavors and feel, major yumminess... Thinking this qualifies, as the name implies, as something of a whale. I know what they said at the tasting, but damn we'd love to see it again. Fine brew, it is. Well....was I guess...<sniffle>

 

Enough with the DIPA's, time for something darker. Big thanks to @darthmiles for this one, exceptional brew.

I felt that it wasn't a bad brew from Flying Dog. Just it seem to have more ABV than the rest.

 

Firestone Double Barrel Ale paired with my homemade hot corned beef reuben stye sandwich made with Sierra Nevada Stout stone ground mustard. This is so good!
