In the US, a "pony" bottle of beer, aka "nip" or a "split" bottle, contains 7 (or, sometimes, 6 or 8) ounces of beer.

Just as a "pony" keg was 1/8 of a barrel (now incorrectly used for quarter barrels).

I recently bought a sixer of Rolling Rock cans to review, and it wasn't nearly as awful as I remembered it from the green skunk-bomb bottle. However, it still tasted like wet cardboard and soggy cereal.

As creepy as it is when guys laugh at their own unfunny jokes in real-life, it's even creepier online.

73 stationed in Beaufort S.C. a woman Marine named Judy, a guy named Mitch and myself, every weekend would get a couple cases of ponies, fill a Styrofoam cooler with ice and water, get a bag of weed and spend the day at Hunting Island. When ponies were mentioned, it all came back. NEVER got warm. Good times

Anheuser-Busch (or InBev or whomever the hell they are nowadays) recently relaxed their distro into my state and we now get Rolling Rock that is no longer just 3.2% abw. Hey, a 30 pack for 20 bucks is a-ok by me for drankin' and 'hoopin' and a'hollerin during a football game. The only "Ponies" I can recall round here were High Life 7 oz and Little Kings cream ale.

You mean it accidentally got better? Easy to throw darts at balloon of a thread. I used to drink it and enjoyed it growing up. Haven't had it in years.

Rolling Rock is a sliver of what it used to be. I imagine their original recipe was standable. Most people buy it for the price, which shows where the general publics head is at, who buys this product. You could call them the super-general public, its so plain.

...which was made in what, '79? And was representative of like 1969. So ya, things went south since its heyday apparently.

Love that you thought of the deerhunter quote, though.

I was just in an Olive Garden outside of New Haven CT tonight(I know). Would have killed for a circa '04 RR, relative to the dreck on tap and in bottles at the OG.
