Haha awesome. In my case this was bought for my pregnant wife, she's been really into craft soda while pregnant this time around. Pretty damn tasty!

Yeah from what I've seen of others' ISOs, getting BCBCS isn't too much easier than VR. Much appreciated that you're willing to pass, I'll start up a BM thread with @Clarkson and @jawas and you and I to get it all sorted.

What a crazy long weekend 4Elf was! Had a really great time meeting @kgncfl and having a few beers with him while getting virtually no sleeping. Keith is a really awesome guy, though I'm sure all of you who have met him already know that. Some haul posts coming momentarily.

This beer is not good at all. Reminds me of Venus from Bell's.

ATG brews are usually around $10 in KY. Not sure how prices are going up so much in other states.

Being in KY, I like ATG overall. They try to be creative and I like to encourage that with my support. Sometime, they try crazy stuff and it is a complete miss like Tall Tale. Other times, you get great stuff like 70k or some brews from the Fun'd Up series...

 

4Elf weekend beer haul - just the Dark Horse stuff first




And now the total haul, 3 cases of BBPt5, a case of Greenbush's Delusion half bottles aged in Koval barrels and half in Templeton Rye, some amazing treats from @kgncfl as a welcome back to Michigan, and some Bells Mercury (hoping that's better than the Venus)... All in all a great, but expensive trip, and I think I'm still hungover from it.

 

I was getting these for a buddy who was shut out as well. He has no idea that I am doing this, so I have no problem peeling off 2 bottles for @Lehighace06 if that seems fair @Dave_Treat. I have some beers put on the side for @Lehighace06 already, so Ill put 2 BCBSBW in his box, as I waiting for one more beer to arrive that I promised him.


I also tried to get into the viper pit for Vanilla with no luck. Even tried to offer up a ANTEAD variant, but people want 2:1. Lets see 50 cases limited one day release, ten of thousands of bottles across the country release. I have no issue trying to match $4$ but at some point rarity needs to come into play and it can't be 2-3 whales for a "over hyped new bottle". I think I matched up one coffee 4 pk trade, but its an IP trade and the chances of getting to meet some 120 miles away will be tough to finally pull the trigger.

How was the release party? Hopefully better than many of the others have become.

Last year I had someone haul me out some of the other things released, like the 3-legs and 6-legs, 4-elf. Good stuff.

I'm working 2 possible trades now, but again they really want more than it's worth. If I get 2, might need to share one with you.

 

The night before was not too bad, had a nice little bottle share going with Keith and some guys in the SWTFYW thread, really good people. We got there at 10 PM Friday night and I got #297 on my order form. The only bad thing about the whole event was their website said they had 420 4-packs of Double Barrel available with a 1 4-pack limit. But on the order forms it said 2 4-pack limits so of course I missed out on that. But what can you do?

The party itself was pretty fun and surprisingly tame. They had free food they were grilling up, wild boar, alligator, some other crazy things as well. And a buddy of mine got me a VIP pass so I was drinking BBPt5 for free all night long. May be while I still feel like crap.

 

I hate the idea of trading "rare" beer. Its one thing when my local store gets cases of carton and I go buy 1 4 pk of Boat and 1 4 pk of 077XX and trade $4$ for Gose, Bomb!, or something that is another shelf beer that I can't get. Both parties went to their local place, and both got $4$ value.

Now, I go wait in line, get a limited one of XX cases, one day only, didn't get there early enough than you don't get any release, and people tell me well its only a $16 beer. Well now that they got their Vanilla, I should be able to send them $30 of Founders Breakfast Stout and it "should" be fair by the rules they tried to set up when it was the other way. Thats what bothers me. Even in one of my trade threads where I offered up ANTEAD Cocoa for Vanilla, someone said, Dude ANTEAD is so much better.

Its very hard to make rare beer trades, unless its straight up, Ill give you my extra Darkness for your extra Huna, and if its a little one sided on value, Ill give you some local stuff to make up. Instead its like, Well give me 2:1 cause right now this is the "it" beer. Hate the winning the lottery attitude with rare beer scene.

 

@jawas which direction is the 120 miles? If it's anywhere near me I'll front you the coffee and figure out how to get the vanilla to you. Also if it's a different direction let me know which way and I'll see if I might be able to help you get that done as well.

 

Its North in NJ, the party is like exit 120ish, and I am exit 0, each exit is pretty much a mile marker. But thanks though. I should be able to work something out once the holidays are over.
