That is what I'm saying. For next year I'll be sure to rent a bus, set up a staging area for my crew of 30 in the parking lot and single file march into line so as not to upset anyone. My apologies.

Also, I'd be more pissed at Dark Horse for screwing up the order forms than me for cutting you in line.

I was one of those 'unpleasant individuals' that actually said something to you, I apologize if this came across as rude but how do you think the people that were 100 an suddenly were 200 and got shut out of what they had planned for because some of your other buddies didn't feel like getting to the end of the line? I can tell you that 90% of the people in your group that showed up 2+ hours after we did and 'partied' with you did not move when it was time to get order forms, I saw it with my own eyes.

I do love when people who cut in front of my tell me I am 'fine' and I will 'get my bottles', how did I know that when the amount of people in front of my suddenly doubled? You are one of the guys who think giving out an ounce of a 'rare' beer is enough to justify cutting in line. I am 5' 8" and 160lb so I am sorry if you felt threatened.

no. screwing up order forms is a mistake. cutting in line is blatantly wrong. you literally cheated people out of their beer. i could care less what beer you brought, i brought Brandy Dark Lord and in no way felt entitled to cheating someone out of their spot in line.

I think the point to be made here is that you cutting in line equated to one person not getting what they stood in line for. And sadly, you were not the only one to lack caring or remorse for how selfish that act was. Who knows how many people got shut out from getting what they put time and effort into trying to get because you don't see the big deal. Sure, it didn't directly affect #81, but what about the person that was #217 (assuming all of the first 216 bought the full two pack allotment)? Things like this really piss me off and I wish people had half a damn decent bone in their body to understand why such actions are wrong.

It was actually number 226 . I know because i got the last 4 pack. My buddy next in line at 227 didnt get one. I thought they had more and decided to give the first 200 2 4 packs and up to number 432 one. Boy was i bummed when i started telling people you will get one.

Ok, so some folks passed on their allowed allotment. You will get that every now and then. But as your story shows, not many did. Your buddy can thank @FrankHammer. Hopefully he got a drink of some CBS or that BA Abraxas for his troubles!

Oh followers of line etiquette & other foolish courtesies, whilst I've come to this release later than yourselves, I've come bearing whales. Whales you pitiful beings have only dreamt of heretofore. Having these whales I'm naturally afforded the luxury of not having to abide by such silly rules of etiquette. If my presence has displaced someone in line, just remember my great benevolence in bringing these whales to your sights. Kneel down and only hope I look in your direction with these bottles I hold.

Honest question guys: What should I have done instead?

Go to the end of the line, leave my stuff there, go party with my friends, then go back to my stuff 10 hours later and hope all is well? As we've already established, there were some very disreputable people there.

Show up on time with all of my friends? Yeah I get it, sorry.

Not hang out with my friends at all? Nope.

Go to the end of the line, befriend the people around me, hope they remember me 10 hours later when I show up and say "Hey, remember me?" OK, I guess that could have worked.

I genuinely want to know how to handle it next time, or how you've handled it previously. Thanks in advance!

My two cents: This conversation should be dropped and moved back on to the topic. I'd hate to see this thread locked because of bad blood. I'm genuinely interested how the party was, what to expect next year, what crazy food you had, etc. and I'd hate to loose that.

    you have two options.
    1. set your stuff up and mingle with the people around you a little. maybe share a little brew with them. go hang with your buddies and come back when its time. (this is what i did)
    2. stay in your spot.

Disreputable? LMAO. Did you pull their criminal and credit histories before you decided to cut in front of them? I'm sure they were some real ruffians I tells ya, probably wearing leather jackets and humming rock n roll tunes.

I am most sad that I missed this. Not the bottles, not the party. Beer nerd rage is probably the funniest thing there ever was.

    Legit question.

Which did you prefer: The bottle share or the party it's self?

Let's say I would only be around for one and not the other, due to sleep, work, my weak ass crew of people that would be going with me, etc.
